This appeared in our local newspaper today. Ted Celeste is a liberal state representative in the Columbus (Ohio) area and the brother of former of very liberal former governor Richard Celeste.

This is as good as any example of the Dems and politicians being out of touch.

Have at it.

Not one freakin' word about the "need for civility" when the Democrats made nastiness, boorishness, rudeness, and name-calling their standard M.O. during the Bush years. Now they're insisting that conservatives "shut up and show civility."

To hell with them!

Anger and incivility threaten to hijack this nation's public discourse.

Where has Ted Celeste been for the last 30 years?

I noticed the paper printed the rep’s opinion in an editor w/o any opportunity to respond, is this typical for this paper?

Perhaps it’s time town hall meetings were set up so that both sides get equal opportunities to state their case.

Sitting for half an hour listening to Democrats sell their tripe, and having questioners lined up with soft ball questions is not what is called fair.

“I have to say that as an elected official, I am extremely frustrated that we have reached this point, and I want others to join me in saying that enough is enough. Let's take a timeout.”

Well Ted, as a fellow Buckeye, I too am extremely frustrated.
I have watched in outrage as your political party engaged in systematic destruction of the values that made our country great.

While there should always be room for healthy discussion of differences of opinion and open debate over the best course to take in seeking solutions to Americas problems, there is no open, honest debate when DemonRATs are involved.

Your party has evolved into a disgusting collaboration of Marxists, thieves and thugs that are dedicated only to seeking and maintaining power through whatever means available. You, and your associates have no moral compass, and as such your direction, and your actions are always geared toward solidifying your power and wealth.

I could begin listing the specific examples of your parties behavior to back up these statements, but I have no desire to write a novel. Suffice it to say that I believe in the freedoms our founding fathers envisioned when they helped form this nation. Their vision was a nation of great personal freedoms, governed by citizen representatives, not elite royalty.

The DemonRAT party has been behaving like conquering thieves, raiding our wealth and dictating ever broadening control over our lives. We are outraged, and we will not allow you to get away with it. Too bad that you don't like the “tone” of discussion. Change your agenda, or prepare for the consequences, but we will not be silenced.

Hey, Ted. Who said:

"If you want the next four years lookin' like the last eight, then I'm not your candidate. But if you want real change...then I need you. I need you to go out and talk to your friends, talk to your neighbors...I want you to argue with them, get in their faces...you guys are the ones who can make the change."*

Who said that, Mr Celeste? Do you think it's civil? Get in their faces? Is that the politics you favor?

Why, we’re just following Dear Leader’s wisdom and advice...
“Get in their face”
“If they bring a knife, we bring a gun”
“Just sit down and shut up”

Back in elementary school, when things got a little out of hand, the teacher would say we needed to take a timeout,

And that is exactly how Democrats view the American people. As children. In school. In a school they run.

Bad as that is, they are headed toward another and worse view: citizens as inmates and they as the wardens.

If they are so concerned about “civility” they can start by having the President stop lying to the American people. People tend to get angry when they see their public servants lying to them

These idiots were amazingly silent when the Democrats and the MSM (excuse the redudancy) were trashing GWB. Is it possible that his comments are really just simple partisanship?

Hey Ted Celeste - have you got any outrage for ACORN advising people on how to cheat the government or how to hide 13 year old sex slaves as "dependents".

And Ted, did you boo President Bush? Most of your fellow "class acts" did - and did you turn away when Clinton used the force of government to go after private citizens? Did you object to Charlie Rangel cheating on his taxes? Or MSNBC showing the man at the tea party with a gun but only showing him from the back so no one could see he was BLACK - then having shills on TV refer to tea party people as racists trying to intimidate blacks.

HEY Ted - we don't have all the the MSM like you guys - and we don't have the money to "rent crowds" like you do. But we are free citizens of a free country and we a tired of taking dem lies - and not fighting back. Tune into Hannnity or Beck or Rush and see what the country is seeing. If you step out of your liberal bubble you might have your eyes opened. We do hate what you stand for, nut we're kind hard working people who love our country ... and we vote.

This is tame compared to politics in the past. I swear it’s like these people have no idea of history before the 1970s.
