Losing your job and/or career over “racially insensetive” comments is one of the “white privleges” I enjoy most.

Racism is not quite spent: would a white Charlie Rangel, even a Democrat, be able to get away with what he’s pulling off?

Yes, as long as he comes of the closet and announce he’s gay.

We’ll see how the race card really works when Obama flips it for real. When it looks like he’s going down in Health Care Reform, it will come out.

I guess Barney Frank is the proof.

"More voted for him because of his race than refused to do so for that reason."

And that too is Racism.

And if you didn't vote for him because of his race then you are a racist too, regardless that you would never vote for a liberal in the first place

Personally, I’ve come to several conclusions about the race card:

- if you’re a conservative, it will be played against you at some point—Accept that fact.

- once it has been played, they’ve taken their best shot—They’re out of Aces.

- the constant overplaying of the race card by the Left during the last year or so is slowly diminishing its strength—Much like the boy who cried wolf.

Of course, it’s still out there, and is still being used; but, based on what I’m seeing in town halls and tea parties, it’s not packing the punch it once did.

IMHO.

I have to agree with you there. It is true that Obama’s race had more to do with getting him elected than anything else. It is type of racialism that expects the perceived underdog to somehow reveal superior moral character in the face of big bad traditionalism. Of course, that is also the plot of Lifetime movies, and the mantra of aging ‘60s hippies who still watch dvds of the old Billy Jack films. The writer of the article should retire the rose colored glasses.

I think Obozo DESPISES white; for giving him everything he has sans any effort on his part. Adding rage is the fact that he took it. He hates America too.

The race card is not dead. Whites regularly lose their jobs over false accusations of racism. The White is automatically guilty and has no defense.

Uh, the race card is alive and well, and placed strategically in the deck where it can be dealt very quickly, when needed.

Simply put, how is Beck's comment 'racist'? He carelessly stated his opinion that Obama is a racist who hates white people. That's is not a racist statement. He didn't make an insensitive joke, use an epithet, and he hasn't demonstrated bias in his hiring practices or commentary on either his radio or television programs.

Of course this doesn't mean that he won't be characterized this way by the usual gang of idiots, but it's not a racial comment.

Imagine if calling someone a racist became grounds for branding the namecaller as one. That would render the race card unplayable. (Ok, I'm dreaming...)

“More voted for him because of his race than refused to do so for that reason.”

Other reasons:
1) White Guilt
2) Black Folks who voted based on color(96%)
3) the Magic Negro myth
4) “The How cool are We” college kids
5) Mccain ran the worst campaign EVER(besides selecting Palin)

Martin Luther King Jr. dreamed of the day when we would judge not by color of skin, but by content of character

The fact that the author and many others have to quote King show that they still are leery of being called racists
