Poll: Romney least favorite Republican candidate among Birthers

How is he rated among folks who never make a comment?

The person may not have appeared yet, but Romney sure doesn’t fit.

Romney is probably not a natural citizen, either.

He claims to be from some other planet.

The Huckster governed as a pseudo liberal and was instrumental in giving us Juan as a candidate in 2008.

If winning in 2012 is all you care about, then Huckabee is the strongest candidate to face Obama.

Obama 47 / Huckabee 44

Let's state the truth. It's not just the "birthers" who have a problem with the RINO.

This article tries to make the case that Romney's problem is with the fringes of the GOP, which is hogwash. The PPP poll that this article references polled favorability for the GOP as a whole, which is conveniently omitted. Romney's problem is getting worse.

I’m not saying Huckabee is perfect. But what other options do we have? The Liberal media crucified Palin and ruined her for 2012. Even if she gets the nomination, they will run her into the ground so the foreigner can continue to rule and destroy America by 2016. Huckabee is the best person that could win in 2012. Romney has questionable religious views that need to be scrutinized and he supported gay marriage while Governor of Massachusetts. Sanford was destroyed by his affair. Palin will be humiliated if she gets the nomination and that will give Obama complete control. I don’t love Huckabee, but he’s the best we got.

Just as many won’t vote for Romney, I won’t vote for The Huckster as I don’t believe that he is a real conservative. He may be a good talk show host, but is not for a minimal Federal Gov’t.

Maybe you missed post #12.

Maybe you dont read too well, Newbie.

Bishop ROMNEY “Crucified” Gov Palin.
How do you feel about that?
You think Team Romney’s attack on Gov Palin and her
little children “ruined her”? No the backstabbing
of Romney ruined HIS chances.

You betcha.

Romney’s favorability among the group tops out at just 43 percent compared to 57 percent approval among non-Birthers. That’s the biggest spread of any of the four candidates mentioned in the poll (Mitt, Huck, Palin, Gingrich), and big enough that PPP declares, “I mean this with all sincerity — Romney’s lack of popularity with the birther wing of the GOP really could scuttle his chances at the nomination in three years.” Sounds nutty, but if Birthers are a proxy for “true conservatives” — i.e. southern, populist, fiscally and socially conservative — then yeah, he’s got problems. In fact, Huckabee and Palin outpoll him among Birthers and non-Birthers alike.

Being a strong Christian is not reason enough to get my vote if that’s all the candidate has to offer. If either the Huckster or Romney is the Republican nominee, I’ll have to write someone in. I really don’t like the Huckster. Can’t we clear the deck and start over???

Requirements must be a spine of steel, guts, and gonads. We need a conservative leader dedicated to protecting and defending our freedom from enemies foreign and domestic. We have a lot of domestic enemies to weed out as a priority.

Romney is very popular though, with Rinos,

Oh puhleeze. Huckster is as bad as Obama. He's a charlatan who bastardizes Christianity for political expediency. Too many Christians get all wrapped up in his alleged evangelicalism and fail to see that Huckabee would not only be another RINO failure, but would also endanger all Chrisitans with his brand of Christian Socialism.

No thank you. Not now, not ever.

Huckabee a strong Christian? Try Christian Socialist. Anyone who says, ‘I raised taxes because children need roads.’ is a fool.

Here lies the problem. There is no “Full-Spectrum” conservative who can effectively campaign at the moment. Simple reason for this:

A large number of Social Conservatives who believe they are “right-wingers” or “radicals” simply because they are conservative on social values and have been so vilified by the Democratic Party that they switched to the GOP. Much of this occurred during the 90’s. But just because they switched parties, doesn’t mean they switched all their other views as well. For these people, someone like Huckabee is good enough.

Another group of people who believe in strong military policies “a la” Scoop Jackson on foreign policy. The Democratic Party has vilified these people mostly this decade and GW Bush picked up their support in ‘04, while McCain held on to some, but not all of this group. Again, while these people see the importance of National Security and Defense, they didn’t transfer all their other views over to the conservative side either.

Another group is the economic conservatives, which contains a largest number of conservative libertarians. These people understand limited government, low taxes, and free markets, but some of the further fringes borders on governmental anarchy (Ron Paul), and especially from Paul supporters, you can tell that the other issues (foreign policy, domestic) didn’t transfer over. Mitt Romney seemed to benefit most from the regular economic conservatives.

Finally, you have the domestic issues conservatives (education, health care, illegal immigration, etc). This group can be further divided into those who associate their domestic beliefs with their social ones and those who do not. Those who do, tend to be much more liberal on domestic issues citing “moral” issues. These tend to be Huckabee supporters. Those who do not, tend to be more conservative on these issues. They tend to support Sarah Palin and Fred Thompson, although some also support Romney based on his illegal immigration stance.

Bottom line, to win in 2012, the GOP is going to have to find a full-spectrum conservative in order to have a shot at winning, regardless of how the rest of Obama’s term goes. It can’t just be anyone, either. It has to be someone who can effectively communicate these principles while dealing with the mainstream media and attacks. The last person to successfully accomplish this-—Reagan, but at least there’s a library full of information for the candidate willing to take the time to study the model.

Those poll numbers mean next to nothing. The only person on that chart who could pack an auditorium on short notice with enthusiastic supporters is Sarah Palin.

The only person the left talks about is Sarah Palin.

The only person on that chart who was able to impact and shape the obamacare debate is Sarah Palin.

And, for what it's worth, I trust her Christianity much more than I do the Huckster's.
