Rights are like muscles. Use them or lose them.

I can’t blame anyone for coming to these events armed. Look at how many protesters are being assaulted by the 0bama supporters. They are less likely to mess with anyone who is openly carrying a firearm.

We’ve got to get these liberals off of this line about “assault weapons”.

Sir, I can call your chair an “assault weapon”, but that doesn’t make it one!

The liberals should lose their right to free speech before everyone loses their right to protect themselves.

Remember the old saying the pen is mighter than the sword? A liberal writer could print some false writings and cause some major damage because of what they said.

Should we take their pens & computers away from them?

This guy is great! He’s an articulate and intelligent patriot: exactly the kind of American this country needs. Thanks for posting! This interview was a refreshing read!

There was a similar incident with a guy who had an AR-15 at one of these. Nobody jostled him, got in his face, or screamed and pointed fingers at him, I noticed.

Excellent interview. And I agree its refreshing!

This is the kind of thing that usually won't see wide distribution. Not only is it contrary to the lock-step and mindless philosophy of the left, it is persuasive and articulate.

I am surprised to see the interviewer being honest and non-ridiculing of this American patriot.

I ran across a post on a firearms forum that speculated the guy is a freeper. Post #7 at the link.

What I love about the interview is his attitude towards personal responsibility. Liberals cannot fathom that there are actual people out there that do take care of themselves and they don’t need anything from the government. What he says so basic and he is right that citizens are totally brainwashed, they’ve been taught by the government that they cannot care for themselves.

Good interview, but somebody needs a little spell check.

But whatever the town — wherein is the need to carry a gun with you to, say, the local store in the middle of the day? It can't be for protection, can it? I mean, you don't think that someone’s going to attack you in the local store, right?

When the left wants to lecture us about "safe sex", they insist that those who copulate with strangers must use a condom every time.

Indeed, in some settings condoms are almost pushed into the hands of young people in the hopes they will always "use protection". We don't have to look long with Google before we find stories of condoms being handed out in public in places like New York or San Francisco.

Why should should I always be safe when it comes to protecting myself against getting a fatal disease, why must I carry sexual prophylaxis with me if I am sexually active and yet must never carry the means of protecting myself against assault and murder if I am socially active?

"To be honest? If I had been in charge of crowd control and protection, I would have arrested him regardless of the legality of such an arrest..."

Damn I hate these NRA-Elitist types that are taking over the firing line.

The left is always talking about cultural sensitivity, well here’s a culture that maybe it’s time for them to understand.

Oh, that's beautiful. I like this guy a lot.

Yes, a firearm serves to diffuse violence. Not only by intimidation, but acting as a constant reminder to the carrier that he can't afford stupid, trivial confrontations. Liberals tend to roll their eyes at that last assertion but it's because they're ignorant on the topic. A number of people have expressed discomfort at the actions of this gentleman, and while I sympathize with the discomfort I'm afraid it's just one of those things we're going to have to endure in keeping a society free. I'm uncomfortable enduring leftists screaming at me. Too bad.

Where did you get the idea the Firing line guy is an NRA member?

I stopped going to the firing line when they were taken over by the democratic underground.

....you don't think that someone’s going to attack you in the local store, right?

It's happened before, remember Luby's cafeteria in Kileen, Texas, and MacDonalds in a couple of places?

He talks like the elitist element from NRA.

I don’t know what he’s a member of to be sure, but people like him make me sick.
