Ernest Istook is very, very good. I remember him as one of the best congressmen in his era, not so long ago. There must be something in the Oklahoma water supply which produces great political leaders like him and Tom Coburn.

I believe he retired from politics when he lost the governor's race. The populist fundamentalist mafia unleashed a bigoted campaign against him because of his religion, not unlike what was done to Bobby Jindal in Louisiana because of his race. It was absolutely disgraceful. I don't recall the details, but I believe Istook was either Catholic or Mormon. Perhaps some Oklahoma freeper could supply the details.

There was a town hall this week I think that banned signs. Once everyone got in the meeting hall, SEIU and ACORN pulled out name tags to prevent friendly fire casualties from their side.
