On a positive note, it helps Dodd to survive a primary.
It could have been worse—they could have said that Conrad was wholly innocent and Dodd guilty as sin, forcing Dodd to announce that he would not be seeking reelection (thus making CT AG Blumenthal the likely frontrunner and reducing our odds of winning the Senate seat from 60% to 20%) in return for keeping his Senate seat for another 17 months (and his congressional pension for life) and staying out of jail.
