"Current events have given Libertarians something to actually be relevant about"

You don't seem to realize that there is a significant population of Republican voters for whom the Libertarian party platform is only about one or two planks shy of having their complete agreement across the board. Libertarians are much much closer to Republicans in spirit than they are to Democrats. If the Libertarians were to simply remove the 'legalize marijuana' plank as one of their overtly stated goals there would defections from both parties, but I believe the majority would come from the ranks of the Republican party. If you listen closely to the MSM you will hear that they already lump Libertarians in with Republicans and then proceed to paint them all as religious zealots.

He is at best being vague about things that could mean violence, or be metaphorical for other forms of pressure. It really doesn’t help that we all know he was mentored by the likes of Mr. Weather Underground Ayers and Rev. God Damn America Wright. The Democrats do not have a monopoly on non-genteel methods of being heard.

Well, yes, I do allude to the drug plank even though my personal ideas on the matter are close to those of the Libertarians. (I believe it should be a medical issue decided among doctors who in turn would be liable for harm caused — the Hippocratic oath should have teeth.) This is not the place or time to push for untrammeled dope.
