Long but excellent!

This ping list is not author-specific for articles I'd like to share. Some for the perfect moral clarity, some for provocative thoughts; or simply interesting articles I'd hate to miss myself. (I don't have to agree with the author all 100% to feel the need to share an article.)

I will try not to abuse the ping list and not to annoy you too much, but on some days there is more of the good stuff that is worthy of attention.

You are welcome to browse the list of truly exceptional articles I pinged to lately. Updated on July 24, 2009.  on  my page.
You are welcome in or out, just freepmail me (and note which PING list you are talking about).

Besides this one, I keep 2 separate PING lists for my favorite authors Victor Davis Hanson and Orson Scott Card.

Revisionist history means never having to accept the lessons of the past.

Socialism is Slavery to the State.

G.Edward Griffin interviews soviet KGB defector Yuri Bezmenov. Without good-for-selling-deodorants James Bond romanticism, he tells some of his story and reveals some of his active measures to plant propaganda in Western media, brainwash useful idiots and subvert countries.

The Cold War-era propaganda template axioms (10 points Oleg lists in the article) are so deeply ingrained into too many minds: people don’t even realize they’ve been duped.

Many liberals I know live their lives conservatively, but when starting discussing politics they immediately revert to the liberal axioms. I can’t stop being fascinated by that. They exhibit a typical Pavlovian reflex.

Thank you so much for adding me to this ping list.

"...the lab-grown virus of anti-Americanism multiplied and mutated, especially in the Middle East."

I would argue that this virus is alive and well right here, both in the populace and in the heights of government.

I like the minotaur and the labyrinth analogy.

"I was astonished by the abundance of leftist propagandistic clichés in the American mainstream media."

I always suspected as much.

"The leftist propaganda encountered so little resistance in the land of the alleged 'capitalist conspiracy' that an airbrushed version of history has almost universally replaced the truth in the media, education, and entertainment. The intended result is the widespread notion of America’s guilt. One doesn’t even need to be a leftist anymore to believe in this country’s image as a violent empire controlled by greedy capitalist oligarchies that dictate its policies."[emphasis mine]

I believe that some high-profile companies had their upper management infiltrated so as to create massive news stories that stoked the myth. And I resent having been propagandized to the point that I believed this nonsense for a while. But that was before I stopped believing the DB-SR-MSM at all ever.

Excellent read and worth the time.

There is a reason why snobby elites on the Upper East Side of Manhattan generously donate to leftist causes and support leftist politicians. Snobs and radicals often act in accord because they are not opposites, as some believe, but rather spiritual cousins — equally despising “the bourgeois,” sharing a low view of humanity as herd animals, and sorting people not on their individual merits but by color, income, occupation, ethnicity, gender, and any other characteristic except the content of their minds.

Thank you.

"But instead of moving forward, Mr. Obama puts America’s gears in reverse and regresses to a romanticized leftist image of the past in which the U.S.A. is typecast as the archetypal reactionary villain battling the forces of progress. Only in this remake of the cult Cold War classic, America finally sees the light, feels remorseful, and surrenders — to critical acclaim from anal-retentive leftists trained to feel guilty for every joyful moment of living in a capitalist society."

Why is this president always doing the opposite of what needs to be done?
Here's an example:

Snobs and radicals often act in accord because they are not opposites...

I view people in three classes: those who want others to take care of (control) them, those who want to take care of themselves, and those who want to "take care of" (i.e. control) others. The first and third groups are the Democrats.
