I am amazed that almost never are people outraged that Roosevelt quite literally GAVE Joseph Stalin the Eastern Bloc countrys as if he owned them..

Could be that Roosevelt was as clueless as Joe Biden..
As feckless as Barney Frank / Chris Dodd.. AND..
as politically corrupt as Lyndon Johnson..

These qualities [rationality, truth, objectivity, and reality] are rejected even as ideals. This did not occur because a large number of people recently had the insight that these ideals were false or impossible of achievement. This rejection occurred, rather, because the more advanced modern liberals saw that their political and cultural agendas were vulnerable to rational thought.

This is how you know you're dealing with psychiatric patients, with madmen. This is Cicero's aspernatio rationalis — contempt for reason — in spades. He regarded it as a dread disease of the mind that distorts all of reality. But you can't build a "second reality" if you don't destroy first reality, first.

The inmates want the keys to the asylum....

How odd, we who cherish these values are supposedly the knuckle-dragging troglodytes, while the wreckers of rationality are supposedly the intelligent, wise men, fit to rule us. Note the profound inversion of reality here....

When you and your husband see that disgraceful person, Specter, on Aug. 11, please do be sure "to give him some hell" from me.

joanie, thank you ever so much for your splendid essay-post!

Ya gotta love Glen Beck

Oh, I do indeed! As for O'Reilly, I've stopped watching him. He is a temporizing, bloviating popinjay who always seems to be on both sides of an issue at once. The word "Constitution" is not something one hears on his show.

I watch Beck, O'Really, Hannity, listen to Levin and Savage, and tolerate other Fox pundits.. even RedEye but I love Ann Coulter.. in whatever venue..

There is room for all of them.. proper outrage cannot be expressed by one single personality.. In a hyperbolic situation only fully cranked hyperbole can expresse it.. Anything less is merely disinformation.. or worse propaganda..

Wow. That org chart sure does look "transparent" — NOT!!!

What a rat's nest. We're sure to get good "accountability" from that plan — right???

The whole thing is a sham and a monstrocity. Please read my letter (linked below at the end of my post) to the heavy handed, debate and free speech stifling, pronouncments of the Obama white House.

Joanie, please read, and if you re so inclined, spread around, my letter to the Obama Whitehouse and to the President about their outrageous attempts to stifle debate and free speech.

Jeff, I have already alerted my entire political e-mail address book to the infamous paragraph on the White House website. I will now pass along your letter as well, urging them to write one of their own.

I have visited the White House website more times than I can count over the years, but, now that Obama is in office, there is something very unsettling about the site -- something blatantly un-American. One small 1/4" (yes, I measured it) American flag on the entire site. No red, white and blue. Nothing uniquely American. It makes my skin crawl. It is permeated by the ideology of the left, which, by definition, decries that which is genuinely American.

August of 2009, during this congressional break, may well prove to be among the most watershed times in the history of our republic. As I see it, upon returning to Washington, our ‘representatives’ will be prepared to do one of two things:

(1) Tell their colleagues how outraged their constituents are, and that they can no longer support the travesty known as 'healthcare reform', or

(2) Roll up their sleeves in agenda-driven arrogance, determined to railroad this bill into law, in spite of the wishes of those who put them in office.

There is no room for compromise on this legislation. The only acceptable vote is a resounding ‘No!’ – and then a resolve to start from scratch to author minimal legislation that will allow free enterprise, and individual liberty, their rightful place in the healthcare process --- legislation that will stop placing a redistribution of wealth, the realization of a leftist agenda, and the accumulation of obscene power in the hands of a ruling elite, at the top of the objectives of all 'leadership' that emanates from Washington.

We all need to attend a town hall meeting during this congressional break (which I will be doing, with Arlen Specter), or, at the very least, make our opinions known to our representatives before they return to Washington. They may well ignore our pleas, but we will have done what we can to stop this abomination from becoming law. Thank you, as always, for doing your part, and them some.

(No response necessary. We’re preaching to the choir at this point.) :)

Indeed. Thank you oh so very much for all your insights, dearest sister in Christ!

The inmates want the keys to the asylum....

Appears to me they already have 'em, they've just been biding their time waiting for dear leader to arrive so's they could use 'em. The message of the election wasn't lost on the ne'er-do-wells in congress. Most of you have heard the phrase, "It's not about me" used numerous times by Odinga. It struck me the first time I heard it during the campaign and it didn't take long to figure out where he was going with it. Simple really. An emotional "empowerment" transfer to the useful idiots that he was nothing more than their servant for "change". The weak minded of the voting victims cabal ate it up apparently. All of which is an aside...

Something occurred to me a while back that has bounced around in my noggin for a while after seeing and hearing countless and varying references to, "Opening up dialogues" from the moonbats. I thought to myself, well certainly they want to keep conservatives engaged in civil dialogue. Given the state of the electorate and validated by their cheerleaders in the SRM, their emotional "dialogue" using touchy-feely, warm and fuzzies against conservatives is very compelling. It is their playing field and the best we can do is get bogged down in their incessant and intolerable lies and minutia. Conservatives for the most part are doers and the sooner we realize engaging the libtards in civil discourse is a losing proposition, the sooner we'll make some changes of our own.

Anyway, it's getting late and I'm getting tired so I'm going to offer up a variation of an old saw, "Those that can, do; those that can't, dialogue". Yeah well, I've had better days. ;^)
