While I am new to the Philippines, I know she was very
popular, as I am watching Philippine TV this morning.

There is continuous coverage and funeral details.
Now watching her son as he gives many details.
It is, however, a very rainy weekend, throughout the country.

Her defense minister, Fidel Ramos, was the general who told Ferdinand Marcos that he lost the election, thus he was obligated to step down, and it would be best that he leave the country. Ramos and Aquino may have had differences of opinion, however if true, that was overruled by his respect for the constitution where she was the commander in chief.
While Subic Bay was closed as a naval base, under her administration it was developed into a significant industrial area that showed promise.

Rest in Peace Cory, you are certainly with God.

She was our leader in the revolution, the best revolution there ever was. And she was at once the bravest, most gentle, most decent, and most honorable revolutionary chieftain there ever has been.

Serving God, country, and our righteous cause, every day under your leadership was a privelege.

Would that we find someone like you in this country, today.

Eternal rest grant to them, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon them.
May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.

Rest in Peace Mrs. Aquino.
