This world doesn’t want to listen to scientists — it has Algore the Nobel Prize (or is it price?) laureate.

We have theoretical scientist who hang out at the universities and write paper and books that purely serve their own interests, for which they get paid.
Then we have practical scientists that actually put science to work. They are paid for the goods and services they produce.
The practical scientist put food on the table.
The theoretical scientists steal this food.

Atmospheric Chemist Roger L. Tanner: “I have very little in common with the philosophy of the Heartland Institute and other ‘free-market fanatics,’ and I consider myself a progressive Democrat. Nevertheless, we scientists should know better than to propound scientific truth by consensus and to excoriate skeptics with purple prose.”
This is one of the most honest statements I have read in a long time. It gives me hope that our society is not lost.

The July 2007 issue of NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC makes it very clear that DDT is not a problem for use in the third world.
The only issue they had with its use in the U.S. was its overuse by farmers, causing saturation which was totally unnecessary.

Too true, but then Science should never be political. It should stand on its own entirely separate.

Oooo ouch... it was 99 here in my area of Oregon today, beats the heck out of 112 we had yesterday.
I remember weather like this about 30 years ago, right after that it got REAL cold and all the crazy “Climate changing moochers” we freaking out about global COOLING. Its the PEOPLE freaking out about natural cycles that are the problem!
