I do not know what happened to GWB after the 2004 election-the man changed, became weak, groveling to Pelosi and the democrats, caved on the budget, and with this revelation.... seems to have lost control of this nation's strategic direction.
He was a mere shell of his first term self. Maybe history will reveal what happened to him. Maybe not.
I'm surprised any intelligence service in the world would continue to cooperate with or respect us. It's every man for himself, out there.
