Just this week, tanning beds, sodas, hotdogs......all modeled on the statist campaign against tabak, enthusiastically cheered on by so many on this site.

Since the Jihad on Smoking gathered steam over the past few years, one of the eyeopeners to me was the large amount of support on this site especially for the bans.
Then I began to understand that modern conservatism, such as it is, contains as many statists as their liberal counterparts.
It was amazing to me to see such strong support for a statist solution to the question of public health issues.
Funny thing, such conservatives were snookered(I’m being a generous optimist here) by the rigid and absolutist leftist/progressive doctrines of public health policy as implemented by acolytes of Carson, Marcuse, Gramsci and the latest bete noire, Alinsky.
Now they’ve come after everything else; yesterday CNN cited a report saying that drinking fruit juice corrodes the enamel on your teeth that helps prevent decay.
Yes. Orange juice, and in general, citric juices will contribute to tooth decay, especially when combined with an occasional coke :>>

Let the insurance companies charge whatever premium they want in open border competition and sort it out. Profit is a huge motive.
If you want to charge people who skydive or drink or both at the same time...that’s fine.
Than just leave everyone alone.
You would have enough money left over to fund a high risk pool for those who can’t get insurance.
