“I think a lot of the top brass in DC are political armchair generals and pencil pushers and do what they are told.”

Some are, many are not. Even most junior and mid-level officers understand their role in defending the Consitution.

“What ammounts to a military coup would be entirely unprecedented in the history of our nation which has a long standing tradition of civilian control over the military.”

In 1861-1865 that precedent was broken with the fighting of the Civil War. And in this world never say never. Obama is not popular amongst a majority of the military. He is despised. They would remove him and enjoy doing it.

“The laws that you and I (citizens)abide by don’t seem to apply to politicians and other special interest groups.”

Equal protection under the law.

Politicians are not above the laws that they force upon us unless we allow them to be above said laws.

I thought Abe Lincoln controlled the military during the Civil War. He sure did sack a lot of generals.

He sacked them and they went and fought for the South and President Jefferson Davis. That action of Lincoln was provocation that lead to the explosion.

Such action is clearly NOT within the powers enumerated in Article 1, Section 8, yet, according to you, ''The Constitution already grants Congress the power to set the rules of citizenship.'' Where, please? You'll find, upon inspection, that the Constitution does no such thing.

If the Regress would attempt to change the ''rules'' of citizenship after the fact to ''legitimate'' the Kenyan's status of (haha) ''natural-born citizen'', the matter would end up in the USSC before you could turn around. And the Supremes would find a way to dodge the question.

Oh get a grip.

Nixon and the thugs he had working for him had no respect whatsoever for the law or for the rights of individual Americans, particularly those who opposed him. In that respect, he had a lot in common with the current occupant of the White House.

It does no one any good to keep making lame excuses when one of your heroes disappoints you. You should be angriest of all, because you were betrayed. When Nixon and his crew committed their crimes, they let us all down. He’s the reason we got four years of Jimmy Carter.

Let’s work to expose Obama and minimize him without involving courts or law enforcement. He is a disaster as President. I can’t see any reason to make the pain worse by inciting a constitutional crisis.

Oh big deal. So they bugged the DNC headquarters at the Watergate Hotel in DC. The real crime of the century! Puh-leeze! Ted Kennedy murders a woman and still gets to stay in the Senate.

Many years later Nixon commented on the bugging of the DNC HQ. How stupid it was he said. They should have bugged McGovern’s HQ.

Not me, I want Americans to do everything in their power to expose this fraud and have him physically removed from the White House. If not for ineligibility, then for criminality.

He was certified as President, so he can be impeached.

The votes for him were certified, I don't recall hearing, seeing, or reading that he was certified. It's not the same thing you know.

Unless you count Nancy Pelosi's certification to various state Secretaries of State that he was qualified under the Constitution. (She did this as head of the Democratic National Convention, after his formal nomination). Not all states require that, some only require certification that he is the candidate of the party.

I like this idea, but who is going to remove him? The POTUS is CINC of all the armed forces, controls ICE and the secret service.

Yes, the POTUS does, but if he's not eligible, he's not POTUS. They need not obey his orders under that circumstance. They would need to obey VP Biden's orders, who would be acting as President, since a President Elect failed to qualify. See 20th amendment.

If a President shall not have been chosen before the time fixed for the beginning of his term, or if the President elect shall have failed to qualify, then the Vice President elect shall act as President until a President shall have qualified

If he is found ineligible, then the VP is sworn in by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court regardless of what the usurper says or does about it.

Not in the case of a President elect failing to qualify. In that case the VP only acts as President, temporarily. Same result though.

I’m old enough to remember the chaos after Nixon’s impeachment and resignation.

So am I. I was in the military, as an officer, at the time. I don't remember any chaos. Nor much interest for that matter. We went right on "keeping 'em flying".

Besides, Nixon was never impeached, let alone removed from office. The House merely threated to open impeachment proceedings before the full House, and he resigned.

Only two Presidents have been impeached, Andrew Johnson, Lincoln's VP, and William Jefferson Blythe "Horn Dog" Clinton. Neither was convicted in the Senate or removed from office.

He’s the president. He was elected by the Electoral College, a result certified by Congress.

The vote count was indeed certified by Congress. But not his eligibility. He either is or is not eligible. If he's not, how can he BE President? It's illogical.

No amendment would be needed. The Constitution already grants Congress the power to set the rules of citizenship. The problem with a Mombasa birth would be that Stanley Ann wasn't quite old enough to pass on citizenship. That's a mere technical problem within Congress's jurisdiction.

That would make him a citizen, but not a Natural Born Citizen. That is beyond the power of Congress to do. He either is, or is not. It's a matter for a Court, not Congress.

Now if we could just find a Court with Cajones. :(

Impeachment aside, this would be a SHTF moment:

Yep, it would be a Smell of a Hess. In spades and triplicate.

Name one General that Lincoln sacked before the War started, or one that went over to the South *after* being sacked.

Heck, Lincoln offered Robert E. Lee the top job, but Lee put him off, waiting in San Antonioto see what Virginia would do. He went with his state.
