On the subject of what to do with telemarketers, a favorite local radio host of mine likes to toy with them. One of his tricks is, when he knows it’s a telemarketer he pretends that there has just been a crime at the home of the person called (his phone) and acts like he is an official. He says “This is a crime scene, did you know the person who lives here....what is your name, what was your relationship to the deceased?”. They hang up PDQ. He has other bits he does for the telemarketers. He gets a kick out of messing with them.
I should arm myself and disappear.
Oops, did that in 2002.
