I’ll go with Palin over Fedzilla’s Cap-n-Tax scheme anyday.

“It’s time to make America the leader in the technological race for clean-energy jobs, as we can no longer afford to watch China, India and Europe take the lead in these industries.” _____________________________________-—>And here are links and reports of cap-and-trade in Europe. The European Union’s cap-and-trade program is in complete collapse as much of Eastern Europe, Italy [8], and Germany [9] are all demanding exemptions from their carbon limits. Not only has the EU’s cap-and-trade failed [10] to actually [11] reduce carbon emissions [12], but even if the reductions were met, they would have no impact on world temperatures [13]. Meanwhile, Germany plans to build 27 coal-fired plants by 2020 [14]. Italy plans to increase its reliance on coal from 14% today to 33% in just five years [15]. In all of Europe, 40 new major coal power plants are set to be built in the next five years [14].

Poor nations cannot do anything about pollution, it is the wealth of rich nations that have the free Capitol to expend the extra costs to make sure our industry is clean.

All the jobs the restrictive government mandates have lost to overseas, does anybody think they are cleaner industry's over there?

All this cap and tax bill will do is bury America under such a financial burden that every last surviving industry that government has not killed is for sure dead and gone. And when we are a third world country, they can finally feel like kings.

Some people raise society to be taller, others cut everyone else off at the knees to feel taller. I fear the present corrupt bunch of politos are the later.

Indeed, Alaska has gotten warmer, and Antarctica has gotten cooler. And China continues to build dirty coal plants every month like clock work.

I suggest we remove congress by insisting on term limits, that will do more to clean up the planet than any thing I know.

Edward John "Ed" Markey (born July 11, 1946) has been a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives since 1976, representing the 7th District of Massachusetts.

He is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. The National Journal generally gave him a "Composite Liberal" score in the mid-90s. Since May 2005, he has been a contributing blogger at The Huffington Post.

Markey is known for his advocacy against torture and the practice of extraordinary rendition through the Torture Outsourcing Prevention Act.

He was one of the 31 members of the House who voted not to count the electoral votes from Ohio in the 2004 Presidential election.

In December 2007, Markey became the first US politician to utilize the medium of Second Life, through which he addressed the delegates of the UNFCCC in Balias part of OneClimate's Virtual Bali event. It was estimated that the carbon dioxide saved in not flying Rep. Markey to Bali was around 5.5 tons.

Markey is married to Dr. Susan Blumenthal.

Rear Admiral Susan J. Blumenthal, M.D., M.P.A. provided service for over twenty years as a leading national U.S. government health expert and spokesperson. She served as Assistant Surgeon General of the United States, as the first ever Deputy Assistant Secretary for Women's Health, and as Senior Global and E-Health Advisor, in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She also was a White House advisor on health issues. Dr Blumenthal has served as the top medical advisor to the Secretary of the US Department of Agriculture.

By late 1997, however, many breast-cancer advocates were criticizing Blumenthal's work. They argued that she hurt research into the disease by diverting funding for certain conferences and educational efforts so that her office controlled them. Also, critics complained that in the summer of 1997, her office put out a request for proposals—an invitation to submit bids for a government contract—that seemed to imply that the researchers who got the contract would have to work with Blumenthal as a co-author. The inspector general for Health and Human Services began examining whether the contract was proper. Blumenthal argued that the complaints about her work were motivated by politics and a personal feud. However, in October of 1997, she left the Office for Women's Health, intending to accept a new appointment as Clinton's senior adviser on women's health. After breast cancer groups protested, Blumenthal declined the new post, writing to Clinton that she hoped her decision would help everyone involved re-focus on the fight against breast cancer. Blumenthal retained her title as assistant surgeon general, and remained in that post through 2004. Like the surgeon general, she wore a naval uniform, since the job officially made her a rear admiral in the U.S. Public Health Service.

On Saturday, January 24, 2009, the City of Malden held a ceremony to dedicate its brand new Senior Community Center to Congressman Markey’s parents and life-long Maldonians, John E. & Christina M. Markey. Rep. Markey, his wife, Dr. Susan Blumenthal, his two brothers John and Richard Markey, and many cousins, aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews were joined by hundreds of members of the community to help celebrate the grand opening of this beautiful, state-of-the art building.

I wonder if Susan Blumenthal is related to SIDNEY BLUMENTHAL?!!!
