You think booing makes you a heroic defender of the American Republic?
[ A sporting event where people knew that the President was going to throw out the first pitch and still came, is a Presidential function ]
Where is this in the Constitution? Also, where in the Constitution should citizens hold public servants in reverence (Maybe OFFICE protocols, certainly not protocols required by law)? All they where elected to do was to perform duties, not an automatic divine right of respect.
Gee, maybe he can be impeached!
And you are confusing respect for 'reverence'.
Clearly, you have no concept of either.
[ No, actually from the response of those on this thread, it would seem you think we live in a banana republic where they overthrow the government when they don't like the election results.]
So after an election we should all turn into dumb lemmings and accept corruption? Apparently you can't comprehend Jefferson's words/deeds (Quiting his cabinet post to "go to war" against the tyrannical Federalist of his day, engaging in "crass" protest against his good friend George Washington etc.) Like I said before, Jefferson would laugh at your ignorance, especially since you bring him up/Declaration of Independence. When Jefferson was elected President, his Empire of Liberty, under the Constitution, promoted your hyperbolic rant of a "Banana Republic". He favored a fragile government that would constantly change in order for free men to fight off tyranny and the public perception of serfdom. Also who brought this reverence to the position of the Presidency? It certainly was not a document filled with duties. Protocols mean jack squat to free citizens, again, by the way. Employees under the President/Active duty in uniform but it stops after that.
Really? And what did Jefferson say when he took office as President?
We are all Republicans, we are all Federalists.
Boston Tea Party goes deeper than just an economic protest by the way, hell the whole Revolution goes deeper than "taxation without representation, read Samuel Adams' defense of the Tea Party. And I said any protest, not just the BTP. Booing a public official is a simple protest. Heck, when I hear people booing any President or any other official, I hear freedom, not disrespect. Of course your perception goes 180 but you are entitled to revere corrupt individuals at your leisure. Just quit your elitist posturing saying it's crass, and just keep your serfdom to yourself.
Booing is a classless act by boorish people who think it is heroic while they are hiding in a crowd as they do it.
