Remember the judge int he Florida escapade during the aftermath of election 2000? He was so heroic, just doing his duty to the oath he took, and democrats hated him for it!
You bet I remember him, I think I watched every bit of that and he did a great job. He knew the law and ran his courtroom well.
If he’s the one I’m thinking of, he was an Infantry officer with 1/9 and I met him at a funeral down that way about 11 years ago, a friend who was with 1/9 during Operation Buffalo in 1967...
This is the judge who worked the Anna Nicole Smith inheritance battle back in 2002.
He’s had some high profile cases.

Roger that. It was another David that died, one we called Beetle (as in Baily)... And the church was FULL of Marines... many, MANY of us... 1998, it was. I stayed on base at El Toro, the last time I was there before they closed it down...
You mentioning the 1/9 brings back memories of the “walking dead”...all I can remember about them is always getting their asses in a bind and some of us having to go in there and pull their bacon out of the fire!
