Mayor of Newark wants you to turn in people with guns

This is NEWARK NJ whic is, from time to time, the high-crime center os the US. The people roaming the streets with guns are not accountants, priests, or rabbis, they are the dregs from the ghettos. Taking their guns away sounds like a good plan to me.

It's OK as long as they're other people's guns? What happens when they're your guns Newark wants to take away? Just because someone is carrying a gun illegally doesn't mean they're up to no good, just that they care about their safety. Even if a person is a convicted fellon, as long as they aren't hurting someone with their firearm then I don't think they should be prohibited from owning them.

I see the strategy here. First you turn them in, then you wait for the police to come and arrest them so you can rob their house without getting shot.
