No doubt there are some, but the Plame bitch was outed. My wife went to college with two electrical engineers that went to work for the CIA a number of years ago—this is an N=2, but neither were liberals.

I can’t imagine their world view is healthy for a career in the CIA.

Not that I plan on going postal or anything, but I am beginning to understand the hatred of the government they were living under that led the Founding Fathers to pen the Declaration of Independence.

The government in Washington is as out of touch with me living here in the Midwest as King George was in England back in the 1770s to the colonies.

I wonder. This should be page one news in the NYTimes and other left wind newspapers. Why the story broke in a beltway insider publication is strange. If true, this demands an investigation, and both the Senate and House should demand explanations.

I suspect collusion between the Democratic congressional leadership, the White House, and Panetta. Panetta is contradicting what he said just a few weeks ago. He needs to be asked what changed his mind. And the date for the beginning of the alleged CIA shenanigans is suspicious - 2001, the beginning of the Bush administration.

CIA insiders may be put off by Panetta’s groveling to Pelosi....hopefully Hoekstra can bring some transparency to this.

We need a list of every secret that was told to Congress and their staffs that were subsequently leaked! No wonder CIA can’t tell them everything. Feinstein leaked that we had a RPV base in Pakistan. Many other examples of “loose lips”.

I think if the CIA lied congress, the head of the CIA should be fired.

If the CIA did not lie, the speaker of the house should be removed from office.

If both happened, both need to be removed.

Either way, people have to go.

“Took awhile to concoct this BS to cover Pelosie’s ass. The fix is in”

Correct. Penis pinching Pelosi doesn’t like her polls numbers. Leon made her look bad.

‘zackly. This is as good as the Washington Post offering “non confrontational” interludes for $25,000.

FoxNews covering Pelosi’s morning presser - I’m hoping someone from the media will ask. Any moment now.

I'm not a fan of the CIA.

But I think posters need to read the article a bit more closely before commenting.

Panetta is being accused of admitting to lies...his/their comment was that he stood by his statement that it is not policy to mislead.
It's clear to me that the dems are grasping a single statement, or even a legitimate breach of that policy, as cover for Pelosi's generalized accusation.
It's certainly of note that the letter claims that such "lies" started in 2001 - like no one had thought of telling a fib under Clinton or at any time before...

Of course, CIA warps information to suit its prior findings - can't be showing off our little mistakes when there is funding to be lost.
But, on the subject Nancy set off her whine over, just the mention of extraordinary methods (water boarding)would have been sufficient in any briefing. Congress is supposed to take action - approve, disapprove, or get more detail before deciding - not to come back years later and demand a do-over.

A more fitting title for this would be:
"Congress points at the other guy"

I totally agree.

I remember how Rush talked about the Clinton’s stacking the CIA with their cronies thereby undermining the Bush admin from the get-go.

From what Rush was able to unearth .. I was convinced that the CIA was being used by the dems to subvert Bush’s ability to conduct foreign policy.

I think there were even letters/memos from the DEMOCRAT head of the intel committee stating they WERE using their positions to subvert the Bush admin.

And .. how can we forget the Scooter Libby case - which was supposedly the exposure of a CIA operative - and she turned out to be just an analyst.

Remember, the dems mode of operation is “projection” - whereby they always accuse the repubs of doing the very stuff they are doing themselves. I don’t know how many appointments Bush made to the CIA operation - but surely there were a lot more career dems within the CIA that Bush did not remove (which was and is a big mistake). This was NOT a BUSH organization .. which I see Pelosi and the other dems trying to prove by saying the CIA was lying since 2001 - which is when Bush came into office.

And .. if the CIA did lie to Congress - this should acquit the Bush admin regarding the info the CIA gave to them regarding the war in Iraq. I can actually see this dust-up ending up in Bush’s favor. Proving once again that the dems never look ahead to the consequences of their actions.
