Not sure you’re getting the point. On the fourth of May, Obama said Cinco de Quatro. Read it again:
If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to “Cinco deCuatro” in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the fourth of May (Cuatro de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?
May 4th WOULD be Cuatro de Mayo, by the way...

Not sure you get the point. He was trying to refer to the Mexican celebration of Cinco de Mayo regardless of whether it was the fourth of May that he said it. I saw the conference. I know what the ambassador was there to celebrate with Zer0.

No, Cinco De Mayo is the holiday, I think Obama was trying to impress with the date (May 4th) and instead of saying Cuatro de Mayo, he said Cinco de Cuatro.

If I can throw in one other thing, the press treated GWBush as a moron, although he was able to land an airplane on an aircraft carrier, probably one of the most challenging of all tasks.
0bama expected praise from a reporter for swatting a fly in an interview.

You are not wrong that there IS a Cinco de Mayo, but you are wrong about the date Obama was attempting to say (WHICH WAS MAY 4th).
Or do you think there is only one date in the Spanish language.
Stop being so ‘I am not wrong” and listen to what people are saying.

Here is the first paragraph of the article...
WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama's joke wasn't lost in translationeven though he referred to a Cinco de Mayo celebration as "Cinco de Cuatro."

Stop trying to hijack the thread. Focus on the substance. He said it on the fourth of May and he was trying to be clever by referring to the fourth of May, the eve of Cinco de Mayo. Let it go, please.

I didn’t say anything about the date he said it. You all seem to be as dumb as 0bama.

So you don’t think that someone could meet with a Mexican ambassador any day but on their holiday?

I am talking about what was in the OP so I am not hi-jacking the thread.

It was a Cinco de Mayo celebration that was taking place on Cuatro de Mayo.

I did read the whole article. (It wasn’t a post) The last part obviously contradicts the first sentence. Great article! /s
