I do not think that the military would not shoot at a civilian without specific orders

The people who got shot may have been shot by someone other than the Honduran military or police.
A Chavista perhaps hiding behind a red mask?????/

I only know a tiny bit of Spanish. If someone would take the time to read the El Heraldo article, could you confirm that Hunter Smith’s translation at “Honduras Abandoned” is accurate?

According to the Herald, the 19 year old kid wasn't killed with a military round.
But... unless it was FMJ with a stamp on it, who knows? 7.62x51 7.62x38 5.56... mostly, in the States, the only diff in ammo is the "Law of Land Warfare" which requires FMJ for rifles. Most law enforcement agencies also use FMJ for personal firearms.
Maybe someone shot the kid with a Black Talon, which will get him in a LOT of trouble in the states. Using deadly ammunition like that.

The lefty leadership know they need martyrs to make their stuggle seem vaguely Tehranesque, so they shot one of the tag-along scmucks.....gotta break eggs to make an omlette, and all that.

Commie provocation designed to make the lawful government look like killers. Standard MO for commies.
To: gaijin

look for a video in that shows the mobster killing the young man. BTW look for the Latinode case, and the photos of the theft of L. 40,000,00.00 that is 2.1 million dollars by members of Zelaya’s government.

This has all the earmarks of a staged killing by Zelayas supporters

If it was 7.62, it wasn’t Hondouran military - they use 5.56 NATO. More likely it was 9mm, .357, or some other handgun round...

The government needs to hire a PR person to overcome all of this media assault and start fighting back

It's interesting that you mention that: there's an unconfirmed report from the same blogger in Honduras, who writes that a high-ranking military officer claims that 20 armed Nicaraguans (with .357's) were arrested yesterday at the end of the airport rally.
The same officer claimed that Cubans and Venezuelans were also at the rally, but did not provide further details.

I should point out that the officer has declined to be identified, and that these claims have not been verified.

look for a video in that shows the mobster killing the young man. There's video evidence of who actually shot the protester?
Can you provide a link?

Even if it was military, it wouldn’t have been an egregious thing. The crowd was at the airport where a military operation was taking place (blocking the runway to keep Zelaya’s plane from landing). It’s not like they were assembled at the town square or something. Then they pushed through a security fence. That’s when the security forces fired warning shots. It’s unfortunate that a bullet might have gone astray, but overall, given the circumstances, the police/military acted with restraint.
To: Yardstick
A warning shot through the noggin. That’s harsh.

Kinda reminds me of what happened in Iran, wonder where these commies got the idea.
