“They have to bring in more revenue than a government entity would....thus when its government funds for privitization...taxpayers end up paying more in tax dollars.”

Sorry, but I suggest you have a false premise of three in the above sentence.

1. Government has no reality check in the free market.

2. Goobers in gooberment agencies get vastly more benefits, retirement pay, and other goodies than do free market employees.

3. Gooberment agencies don’t reduce employees, remove regulations/rules, ad nauseam.

Private charity considers a 28% overhead super high, whereas gooberment help from a gooberment agency does well to get 28% to the “needy” they putatively serve.

So “shelve” and “temporary moratorium” are not synonymous???

I’m almost afraid to ask you what you think “revolving funds” means...

But I am not afraid to ask you if you think the TTC was a good idea...

As far as I am concerned, the absolute, overwhelming negative support (from Texans) for the project, its funding, who gets to build, operate and profit from this project...

Nahhhh, I respect the opportunity to present an idea, it should be debated fully, given a chance to be voted on, and if it is shot down...Those who support it need tolete it go...Not do what they are doing to supplant, and or ignore public opinion...

If Corona, Perry (if he’s still around) and their ilk want to resurrect this in 2011 now...Fine...Thats your own political funeral as far as I am concerned...

"their ilk want to resurrect this in 2011"

One good observation on this is those who don't want the CDAs and toll roads will have raise taxes.

They will get cornered when they do. So let me put it to you like this:

If there was state referendum on raising the gas tax 12 cents and indexing the tax rate, do you think it would pass?

Of course it won't. Because, the reason for going to user fees in the first place was because raising taxes was not politically feasible.

It’s a plot....the W’s, Perry’s, Giuliani’s and probably our esteemed Senators are in it up to their necks but WHY??? Are there really those out there that want Mexico, the USA and Canada to be as one????? We’re screwed until this whole sorted state of affairs is exposed to all the voters in this country but alas, half of them don’t have an IQ above room temperature.

So “your” saying that if I do not want the TTC and the associated mechanisms to fund forward progress on that project, I and the others that oppose this want to raise taxes...

That limb you are on is pretty thin friend...That idea of yours is certainly a hoot...

I don’t know where you got the idea that the state fuel tax computed up to be 12 cents above what we have now, but that bill that was going to do it at a 125% increase sure was a bit higher than 12 cents...That math just doesn’t work for me...

How about we just do away with any future toll roads altogether??? I think that is a fabulous idea...Especially when many future tollroads and commerce corridors will hurt more Texans and benefit foriegn entities???

Seems a very easy decision to me...

If Texans want to build it, we should choose to do so, not put up the land, pay for it, and turn over the profit and operations for 50 years on it to some overseas groups...
