Ah yes, the simple life, of simple work and simple pay.
You know, it probably is NICE to have that solace and comfort to know that the Gub’mint will take care of you, and never HAF tah go get a job, and do excellent work, under the supervision of someone always waiting to hire someone who can do a better job than YOU do. Of course goods, services and products do go down in quality and essence..and in the end, the system eats itself into a skeletal bone structure with none of the organs, institutions working properly. K. Marx had some good ideas, but he never did understand the innate depravity of mankind, that without a rebirth and regeneration, we’ll make wrong choices everytime, like Adam. Checks and balances are not only necessary, that are PARAMOUNT for a society to continue to exist. Compared to all of the other economic systems, Democratic Capitalism has to be the best choice.
A lot of Russians still miss Stalin, too. I don’t know if it’s “good old days” nostalgia like we all have, or the lingering effects of communist indoctrination, or just the fact that some idiots will always bitch about everything.
all lies, all the time.
Heck most liberals in the USA pine for commieland too.
The Ossies have never been happy in the united Germany. They are a bit like the old prisoner in “Shawshank,” who found like on the outside so hard he hanged himself. People reared as slaves grow to love their chains.
It basically boils down to the fact that some people in Russia and East Germany were so under the thumb of communism that they don’t know how to fend for themselves. They totally rely on a communist government. This is what what some of our politicians want for us.
Let’s make everyone happy. Ship over all the RATS and rebuild the wall.
They can keep the Communism and Trabants
Oh the torments bestowed when one has control over their destiny and personal decision making is required.
Freedom IS work, however for most the work is well worth the rewards.
They can start up Radio Free Europe again and call it CNN.
Just goes to show you the value of a good Bolshevik education. Just like the one provided in our Public Schools.
Starving undertakers perhaps?

There are these “nostalgia” ideas that people have, plus some other things that influence people. For example, violent crime has increased in the former communist countries. They have come to have the same fear of bad neighborhoods and certain gang bang type people that we have. Under communism, violent crime was rare, so people felt more personal safety in some ways.
Also, some raised under communism don’t know how to think for themselves or make plans for their own lives. Some of those people feel frustrated about their lack of success in jobs and a capitalist system. They don’t understand that you and an individual have to make decisions about your life, getting a job, going to school to get job skills, and all of that. They are used to being assigned to go to school and then to go to work somewhere.
And some think that it’s unfair that mafia style “businessmen” have been the major profiteers as capitalism has come to the former Soviet Union, in particular. In Germany, some eastern Germans resent that the capitalists from the former West Germany saw business opportunity and moved east. They feel passed by because the capitalists came in and pushed them aside.
Just because it is outrageously priced doesn't mean it's good. ; )
Trabants were those little east german, 2 cycle pollution generators that Goverment Motors will reverse engineer as the “Novea GM”
We used to study history to help us to remember. Now it's just condoms and cucumbers.
