You probably are a supporter of that atrocity that runs down Main street in Houston as well.

I think it would be nice if they expanded that thing so it came out here to Cypress in the NW 'burbs. I had to drive downtown last year for jury duty. Good grief, was that ever a PITA. They barely reimburse you enough to pay for the parking, let alone gas mileage and meals. It would've been a whole lot easier just jumping on a light-rail system, and simply riding it all the way in to downtown rather than deal with all that congested traffic on unfamiliar streets. Heck, with a decent mass transit system, I might even go down there to see some ballgames too! But right now, I'm pretty content to stay outside the Beltway as much as possible.

"Even now that she is finished politically, they are still beating their drums."

Oh now that was a dead giveaway....

Are you still here cultivating copious amounts of bile from the entire forum? Are you having fun? I saw a picture of Sarah on your about page. Nice of you to be Sarah's punching bag. LOL

Have a good Fourth.

I notice you failed to address the statements I specifically mentioned, weasel-boy. And I will cheerfully admit to a strong dislike of lying RINOs like yourself.

Sure Willie! Let’s spend a few billion more to expand a service that loses more money with each passing day!

Good grief!

Hmmmmm....
Long story made short:
Sometime shortly after the crack of dawn, I had to go in to this big auditorium with a thousand other people.
We filled out a bunch of forms, watched a video about what they were gonna do to us, and then we just sat there and waited. Every now and then the boredom was interrupted by some guy who called for some group that depended on what number they gave you. By mid-afternoon, most of the auditorium was empty and they told the rest of us to go home, we weren't needed.

And to think I had to drive through morning rush hour traffic to get downtown to go throught THAT BS!!!

Sheeesh.....

As will many Conservatives. They would rather have ANYONE in the office with the almighty (R) behind their name than a Dem.

People put up with that congested Beltway traffic only because you won't give them any other choice.
That's why you got booted out of office.

The voters elected Dole to a Senate term - he had more than 2 years left. The voters elected Palin to a Gubernatorial term - she had less than 2 years left.

The difference being that in the case of Dole resigning, he left a seat vacant, while Gov. Palin resigning simply moves the current Lt. Governor up, no vacancy.

It seems to me that with her opponents/enemies creating a situation wherein she is unable to effectively serve the people of Alaska, impeded from getting anything done because she has to deal with the frivolous and fraudulent ethics baloney, not to mention how much that is costing the Alaskan tax-payers, (I don't include the personal bill being tolled), her stepping aside this way is actually better serving the people of the state than *sticking it out* for the remainder of her term, only to have more piled on, more cost to her constituents.

I am not ready to declare that she is actually considering another office, I don't see this move as conducive to that. I do, however, see it as a public servant doing what is deemed the best for the people she directly responds to, the citizenry.

Hey, I didn't shirk my responsibility and didn't make up any excuses.
Despite being a PITA, I showed up on time as ordered.

About the only "good" thing that happened is that I wasn't one of the poor folks who actually got picked and had to go back the next day... and the day after that... and the day after that...

Sure Willie!

That’s why their little Chu chu train looses even more money with every passing day!

It was shoved down our throats and virtually NO ONE rides the fool thing!

You and Lee P. Brown should be VERY proud!

Politicians quit the jobs they have when they get a promotion.

Not true at all.

He’s a serious individual, a man of ideas.

Who resigned from office before the end of its term, and not in order to move on to higher office.

I have no horse in the race right now outside of thinking Newt Gingrich would make the race interesting and elevate the discourse a bit from the low of 2008.

But, but, but ... he resigned his office before the end of its term! He didn't do so in order to move on to higher office!!

(Yes, I'm posting replies as I'm reading the thread -- I found myself seriously annoyed at your ridiculous *logic*, couldn't help myself).

That's because the dinky little system is only 7.5 miles long.
To increase ridership and utilization, it needs to be greatly expanded to provide more service.

Must read!

A little reality dose for those who run their mouths about Palin "quitting".

YES!

I had not thought of that!

Excellent point!

Newt resigned for very similar reasons to what Sarah stated...

Hum, what say you Counterpunch?

What was that about quitters not needs to bother to run for President?

I have never uttered a bad work towards the Cuda.
I support her 100 percent. About the only politician I have ANY faith in.
