My wife’s family is from Scandinavia, so she grew up going nude and topless to the beach when they would visit there in summers when she was growing up.

At first, it takes some getting used to going to clothing-optional beaches, but they’re common in Europe and in some of the former European-owned islands in the Carribean. After the first day, you almost forget that everyone around you is not wearing anything.

Nude hikers during bug season? ? ?

Those folks must have thick skins, indeed.

Bleah. I was a kid in the 60s and 70s and my parents had an occasional casual nudity policy, intended to offer us a certain level of comfort with our bodies and those of others. I always experienced discomfort and a sense of unnaturalness, and unwanted memories and influences intruding into sexuality later. At least one of my brothers was even more distressed, and my parents were not the most extreme of their generation.

My kids haven’t seen anything since they were weaned.

Clothing optional resorts help niche motels hold their own in down hospitality market. Some resorts have found a way to survive.

Southwest Travel Notes - casting aside the paperwork Spa Resort with more...and nothing at all.
Clothing optional has become a marketing trend in upscale resorts popping up across America . For a growing number of resort goers, the option of checking their clothes at the door has become an attractive way to relax and retreat.

Nestled in the hills of a California desert community and overlooking the Coachella Valley and Palm Springs is Living Waters Spa that has served the clothing optional market for over six years.

By giving its guests the option to stay nude, it is thriving while other area hotels have been pounded by financially challenging times.

Gimme a box of chablis and a bag of pork cracklins and that would be the perfect romantic evening for me to hit that not-guilty lady. In a respectful, clothing-optional environment, of course.

Oh wait. That is not the lady I was envisioning. She looks like she already ate my bag of cracklins, as well as the rest of the hog.

Alas, this court must find her GUILTY.
