Who was the other Dem, it only showed 43? Not that it really matters, because the bottom line is they are all for it....I think they flip coins before the actual vote: Should it be 219 to 212 or 217 to 214 or 216 to 215, then the flip for who’s going to surprise everyone....and then they LOL

“..Time to secede...”
-
Tried that once...
Didn’t turn out too well.

Sorry, I’m tired of that unthinking 10th grade high school response.

If you think the liberal northeast can raise an army to stop secession, tell us the names of the generals who will call out the troops and where they will be mustered from.

And don’t tell me they’ll be recruited from the 101st Airborne and 1st Mardiv.

Tom McClintock is from CA, and he is among the best there is.
He’s new to DC this year, though.
Newt isn’t passe, he has a higher profile now than he did 10 years ago.
We can’t fall into this trap about trying to guess who would be “hip to the kids.”

Mike Pence is the glaringly obvious person to be leader for House Republicans.

money talks—ads, airtime, community protests, radio talk hosts talking about them (8 Rinos) on a daily basis, RNC warned to try and oust them, etc.or no donations. Also, billboards!

I will check out Pence, but my comments on Newt stand—I met him also. We do need to keep and attract younger voters. I still think there is a void.

He did alright when he did his ‘filibuster’, but he was still ineffective and still didn’t stop the Cap’n Tax from passing.

If he had been out in front of this all along, perhaps he could have cultivated the sort of opposition Republicans needed to stop it.
But I don’t think he has the charisma necessary to move an issue.
When he talks, people just go ‘eh.’
He really puts the ‘eh’ in Boehner.

I think Newt is just as capable as anyone to attract younger voters.
But that is on the presidential level in 2012.
What we need to be focusing on right now is new effective Republican leadership in the House right now.

Perhaps the Senate, too.
But that comes later.

The MSM has no interest in interviewing him
Of course they don't.
Boehner has no personality.
He has the charisma of tofu.
Any news outlet that interviewed him would see their rating crater for that segment.
Watching Boehner talk is like watching paint dry.

If the GOP had a more electrifying leader, they would not have any problem getting media attention.
Newt Gingrich never had problem getting the media, and America, to tune in.
That is how the GOP won so many battles throughout the 1990s.
Boehner is more Bob Dole than Newt Gingrich.

Yes, Chet Edwards is as liberal as they come. He votes exactly as Ms. Pelosi tells him. She has made him the “5th most important” in the House (or,as they think, the world. He was allowed to vote against this because he is afraid he will lose next year. Waco TEA Party had a forum of 7 people who said they wanted to run for his Congresssional seat; he was invited but didn’t bother answering the invitation. However, he sent at least two of his lackeys to the forum. Makes you really wonder why he voted against the bill. He couldn’t be running scared, could he?
