The leftists believe that wealth is and always has been a constant. Capitalism is the system whereby rich people can get and hoard most of the wealth. Socialism is the system whereby that wealth is evenly shared by mankind. Ask such a person if there is more wealth in the world today and he will either answer “no,” or will dodge the question by calling you names or changing the subject.
That's true, if he gets his agenda through, cap and trade, national healthcare, the domestic damage will likely be far greater than the damage he does overseas.
When Ronald Reagan prepared to label the Soviet Union the "Evil Empire," every single department objected and said he must delete the phrase. He overruled them and delivered a historic speech which helped win the cold war. Every media outlet, every pundit and most government officials were apoplectic. They said the nuclear clock was moved forward (indicating a greater chance of nuclear war), relations would never be the same, an unprecedented provocation had occurred, and so forth. In the real world however, the Soviets had to defend themselves, and since they really were an evil empire, they failed miserably. This hastened the fall of the Berlin Wall, and as is always the case when freedom triumphs, the world moved closer to peace and stability. If the United States stands for anything, it stands for human rights and freedom.
You mean before you supported Israel out of consideration to American Jews? How sweet.
They see a zero sum game. They would rather see us all equally poor than unequally rich. I think it was Neil Cavuto who said that.
