You are probably on the right path on that. It seems that once something goes wrong in the system, it affects everything.
I am not so sure that Metro management is the best it can be. To me, it seems that the problems are more prevalent lately.
can anyone tell me how to find a list of the dead and injured?
I know that as of earlier this morning, they hadn’t released a list of the dead, which actually now stands at 7.
At 9:30 here in Baltimore it was reported that they retracted the “9” and now say 7 are confirmed dead.

Dave Bottoms, 39, had just left his job as an Army Chaplain at Walter Reed. The Anglican priest was in the back of the front car that slammed into the stopped train. When he saw the train buckling, it looked just like it would in the movies, he said.
“It felt like it was going in slow motion,” he said. “I started praying.”
In the chaotic moments after the crash, he walked to a young woman who had been pinned in between seats. She was hysterical, he said, but he began calming her—and the other passengers in the car.
The group began saying the Lord’s Prayer in unison.
Drudge is suggesting ‘texting’ may have had some part in this.

WaPo has names and descriptions of seven of the dead.
“Among those killed in yesterday’s Red Line train crash was a retired general who headed the D.C. National Guard and gave the order to scramble jets over the city during the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Maj. Gen. David F. Wherley Jr. and his wife, Ann Wherley, both 62, were among nine killed when one Metro train slammed into the back of another near the Fort Totten Station yesterday afternoon, hitting with such force that its first car was cracked open and lifted on top of the other train.”
Tragic loss for America but more so for the General’s and his wife’s family.

The grief of losing someone you love in an accident or other sudden death is what teaches compassion for others.
My prayers for their heavy-hearted families. This is just awful.
