Stories like this are just impossible to bear. Any of us old farts would trade places with this sweet child in a minute, but no one asks us. Why is that?
neat story. I took my kids to see this movie. WONDERFUL experience. I loved it! Such a great story. No surprise that is another Brad Bird one, the guy who did The Incredibles.
It's very unfair.
Ya got me.
Aside from this being a very moving story (which it is), it’s at least something positive in the whole sea of bad news we’re bombarded with every day.
ugghh.. this poor dear sweet little girl.. God, life can be so unfair... So happy for the dear little heart, that she got to see her movie, before she left.
I haven’t been to see it yet. Still trying to get over Wall-E. Normally I am a raving Disney fanbot, but Wall-e upset me.
Yea, the DVD is a bit grainy and shadow people walk in front of the screen a couple of times but its OK, I guess.

That's what Bird gets that some others don't. The visuals are great, but you have to have a compelling story.
I didn’t like Wall-E but I really liked UP. The stories are very different.
I’m with you on the 3-D
If you have never seen digital 3D THEN GO TO IMAX AND SEE IT- IT IS WORTH THE EXTRA FEW BUCKS!
I’t is not anything like the old red/blue glasses. They use polarized lenzes and the effect is amazing
I loved it that the 3D glasses looked like the old man’s glasses in the movies! Every preview was for a 3D movie, and looked awesome on the IMAX. Very enjoyable.
I have a ten year old daughter. RIP in His hands little princess.
Very touching story. Prayers for the little girl and kudos to the Pixar people.
Your question brought up a bittersweet memory. My grandchildren had a friend who was fighting leukemia. One day I was taking my granddaughter and her friend and her friend’s little sister somewhere and I heard them talking.
The youngest one was saying that she would give her friend her heart if she needed it and then her sister agreed that she too would give Jacquelyn her heart if it would save her. I was just grinning ear to ear through my tears because they were so sincere and I didn’t want to explain to them that they couldn’t give her their hearts without dying themselves.
Then it came time for my granddaughter to pipe in and she also agreed that she would give her heart also but then she stopped to think a minute and then asked “Grandma, don’t you have to be 18 to give someone your heart?”
I’m sorry, poignant moment or not I couldn’t help but laugh, then I explained why they couldn’t give their hearts but that they could give bone marrow if they matched and if their parents consented and they all hoped that they would match and be able to help her.
I’m crying now but I can still laugh about the sweet sincerety of their misconception.
To steal a line from Calvin and Hobbes.
“I suppose it will all make sense when we grow up.”

God bless the soul of this beautiful child, and bless her loving family. Bless the people who helped her see the film, too. Every last one of them.
What a lovely thing they did for her and for everyone who hears her story. It’s so nice to hear a story about people doing the right thing, without being pushed or prodded. Apparently, the publicity surrounding this did not come from Pixar; they’ve stayed pretty quiet about it.
Most moving account.
