I’m with Ron Paul on this one. Condemnations are useless. Speak softly and carry a big stick.

, including the murder of over 6 million jews. No, the man to blame for that is the "heroic" interventionist FDR who turned Jewish refugees away from our shores and then compounded his sins by refusing to bomb the railroad lines to the camps. Meanwhile, the great isolationist, H.L. Mencken wanted to let them in.

Ok, let’s look at it a different way. Let’s say you are America and you want to encourage the Iranians to have another election because you think the results are corrupt. Considering that power rests solely in the hands of the mullah ruling class, do you think a resolution passed by the US House of Representatives will further or hinder that cause?
To: The Pack Knight
He favors letters of marque and reprisal, something that has been outlawed by every other country in the civilized world, but cant bring himself to support a simple expression of solidarity with the Iranian people.Ron Paul gets more attention that way.

Let me guess, you flunked out of your debate class, and/or started pounding the table and screaming on your first try.

The rollcall I saw indicates that Keith X voted for the resolution. The rep who voted "present" is listed as ELLSWORTH.Time to toss these glasses away and get another prescription then :)

We “encouraged” the Iranians through this method to make a revolution for eight years and it did work. Here’s a strange concept. Stay out of the way and the let Iranians make their own revolution (as we did ours) and the Latin Americans made their eyes. Revolutions usually misfire when “encouraged” by self-righteous super powers.

Problem is, we've tangled before, and since we see the world so ABSOLUTELY differently, we will never agree on anything. I recall you saying something to the effect that you would not have supported Lend Lease to England during WWII, cuz Germany hadn't attacked us.
I just can't bother with someone like that.

It appears then your knowledge of the constitution is limited.
My point has been made.

Thank you.

Do we really believe that in a decade we are gonna change their culture? We already have.
And it continues.
You'd be surprised.

I was thinking pretty much the same thing: would Ron Paul not vote for a House resolution declaring apple pie to be the national cake, because he doesn’t find the authority to do it under the Constitution?

Washington was born over 250 years ago, perhaps you should look for guidance on matters of foreign policy from people who knew what the atom was. Washington knew what the Atom was.
He was the bloke wot married Eve.

—Ron Paul is right on this, not only for idealistic reasons, but also for practical ones.
—We’ve got no dog in this fight, because Mir-Hossein Mousavi is, as one reporter described, “no Lech Walesa or Vaclav Havel, no Nelson Mandela or Mahatma Gandhi bent on destroying an evil regime. He is, and has been, a part of the Iranian regime throughout its 30-year history.”
Anyone who thinks that even if Mousavi wins, Iran is going to change for the better, is fooling themselves.—
Bingo! You’ve won the door prize.

Exactly. That House resolution, and $2.69, will buy you a gallon of 87 octane.

Ron Paul is not a freakin loony tune, he's a blubbering idiot narcissist who is starving for attention, who wants America to withdraw into a shell, which is impossible in the highly-connected world we live in.
I fixed your post.
