Hmm. He was treating patients from the housing projects - paid by a single payer - Medicaid - I'm sure. Congress will never pay docs more. When they need to cut the budget they cut the docs reimbursement. He thinks that by paying the neurosurgeon less, he will make more. Nope. Everyone will make less under single payer - and the workload will be greater.
“US Medical schools cant fill their spots, and have tremendously lowered their standards.”
Do you have ANY evidence to back that up? Because the last I checked MCAT averages and GPAs for accepted students are up across the board over the last 10 years. The number of applicants are down very slightly but the credentials to get in are more competitive now than ever in US history. For every applicant offered a spot, two are denied. I can guarantee you there is not ONE med school in the US with a single empty spot.
and when they’re talking about taxing insurance benefits, makes sure they include themselves in that wonderful idea as well.
Typical of a supporter of the 0ne. When things go right, 0's wonderful. When things are not to their liking, 0 is still wonderful, but the people advising him are at fault.
I'm starting to wonder if 0 is ever going to get any of the blame from his followers, even when EVERYTHING goes to Hades. They called Reagan the Teflon President, but we've never seen Teflon like this.
You caught that too. Talk about irony.
“He’s not picking people working in the trenches.”
Then he takes a shot at neurosurgeons.
Never mind that the amount of malpractice insurance they have to carry could sink a battleship.
Cost of a neurosurgeon could come down with a loser-pays, non-economic damages-capped, no triple damages system of torts.
It looks like hes complaining because Obamas proposal is not Communist enough for his tastes.

I agree. I’m not buying this story. It sounds like a set up to get his doctor to support single payer. NO SINGLE PAY! End of story.
Actually, the free market keeps a lid on costs now. I've had quite a few surgeries, and every time health care provider bills one price, which the insurance company whittles down to another price - especially the $5000 or so for a few hours in one room, $1500 for another, etc. that the hospital itself charges.
If the hospital and doctors want the huge bloc of patients that the insurance company covers, they take the contract price, and I pay my deductible.
I'm over 50, and pay $221/month to a major insurer. It's not a gold plated package, and I have a high deductible, but it pays 80% just like most others.
How is the government going to match this without massive subsidies paid for with massive taxes paid by me?
They can't come close. I'd like to see the operations that the Chicago neurosurgeons are getting 20K a whack for - I've had the same neurosurgeon do 3 operations on me and didn't get paid 1/4 of that altogether.
Don’t mess with the docs....
I was about to post the exact same thing you posted...
NEUROSURGEONS are part of the private free-enterprise system, and it is NOT UP TO GOVERNMENT to decide what they get paid... EVER!

“We should all listen to a man who has stuck his fingers up the President’s b-tt. I wonder what the President would say about single-payer in that situation. “I once briefly talked to him about malpractice, when I was checking his prostate, and he took the lawyers’ position. Big mistake.”
I guess we should listen to Larry Sinclair, too, if sticking a finger up Obama’s rear is a reason to listen to him...
...”The number of applicants are down very slightly but the credentials to get in are more competitive now than ever in US history.”...
I’d be very surprised if MCAT scores and admissions competition are stiffer than when my wife-to-be was admitted to medical school in 1976...
OOOPPSS....this guy better watch it....he’ll be called “dis-oriented” and who knows what else pretty soon.

So Obama’s pill roller wants to make neurosurgery less profitable. would he expect more and better care by this? Madness.
Wait until michelle gets knocked up again and finds out that the “Nobama Care” will make her wait 14 months for pre-natal care.
