While I also would like to see Ahmadinejad gone and shamed, Musavi (or any other mullah sockpuppet) wouldn’t be any better, and in a certain way even worse.
With Ahmadinejad an Israeli strike or other sanctions would be more palatable... “kinder, gentler” types ala Musavi will play Obama and the appeasers directly in their hands (which is exactly why they are propped up). This will make the position of anti-regime Westerners and Iranians decidedly more difficult. Everyone will gush and fawn about a “President” that isn’t a batsh*t crazy midget, and overlook that the pro-terrorist, pro-proliferation policies will continue without the scrutiny.
Regardless of that, Musavi is strange type of “moderate”. He was already in office under Khomeini, during the Iran-Iraq war. Some of the greatest atrocities and crimes were committed under him.
I do believe we are starting to see some conservatives begining to emerge.
California... India... Kuwait... England... [Germany's] Angela Merkel in the September 2009 election appear[s] certain to be able to form a Right-Center government with its Free Democrat Party, and end the Right-Left coalition government she heads now... Real conservatism is not winning elections yet; but the Left is clearly losing.also Italy, Lebanon, others...
Thanks Civ
Everyone is out of step but His Barackness!
Iran’s election results may be a surprise. Probably not, but that’s why they might be surprising. ;’)
Hi Civ,
Nice to see such optimism.
I am not so optimistic.
Ahmadeenajad is, IMO a puppet of the Mullahs. If they want a different messenger, hge will lose, if not, he will stay.
What ever happened to supporting truly pro=western forces in Iran?
Kindest regards,
Cincinna
