I acre of corn produces 85 gallons of ethanol. An acre of algae could make ten or twenty times this amount.
Never had a “sleeve valve engine”, but have had diesels for tens of years ... LOL.
After owning a normally aspirated diesel tractor for 15 years, and a normally aspirated diesel for 20, I stick with what works. Diesel have low wear because the rotate slow. Normally aspirated means simple, hard working, long lasting engine.
Can't a guy have fun?
By volume, ethanol contains 30% less energy than gasoline, so 10% ethanol blend will deliver 3% fewer MPG. Gas mileage will go down another 1.5% when they increase the ethanol mandate to 15%.
Ethanol, a feel good federal mandate that is worthless at best.
