I took your advice. I went ahead and sent the following message to my “esteemed” Senator, Jim “the Porno Writer” Webb:

Senator Webb:

It looks like the true freedom fighters will be asked to stand up and set themselves apart from the sycophantic lap-dogs a bit earlier than I had originally thought. The president has named his nominee to replace David Souter on the U.S. Supreme Court; and he has somehow managed to find a person who misunderstands the function of the Judicial Branch of our government, and apparently hates our Constitution, even more then he does.

I’ll be short and to the point: If you really are a “moderate” who supports freedom and individual liberties in this country, then it is time to stand up and oppose Ms. Sonia Sotomayor’s confirmation to the highest court in our land. Further, if you really were “Born Fighting” for what is right, then you will step up and do even MORE than simply opposing her confirmation; you will LEAD the fight against her. Allowing persons like Ms. Sotomayor to have any part in deciding critical Constitutional issues in this country represents the greatest threat to the survival of our Republic that I have seen in recent years.

I eagerly await your response, sir, although I have to say I suspect I already know what it will be (can you say: lap, lap lap, woof woof, woof?). For the sake of the future of our Constitution, I truly do hope that you prove me wrong.

Sincerely,

WayneS

AND.... in a very similar vein, but customized for him, this, to Sen. Mark Warner:

Senator Warner:

It looks like the true freedom fighters will be asked to stand up and set themselves apart from the sycophantic lap-dogs a bit earlier than I had originally thought. The president has named his nominee to replace David Souter on the U.S. Supreme Court; and he has somehow managed to find a person who misunderstands the function of the Judicial Branch of our government, and apparently hates our Constitution, even more then he does.

I’ll be (relatively) short and to the point: If you really are a “moderate” who supports freedom and individual liberties in this country, then it is time to stand up and oppose Ms. Sonia Sotomayor’s confirmation to the highest court in our land. Further, if you really care about representing the citizens, ALL the citizens, of this Commonwealth in the U.S. Senate, then you will step up and do even more than simply opposing her confirmation; you will help lead the fight against her. Allowing far-left, activist, judges like Ms. Sotomayor to gain foot-holds on our Supreme Court represents the greatest threat to the survival of our Republic that I have ever seen.

I am asking you to set political correctness aside, re-read the U.S. Constitution to refresh your memory as regards the purpose of the Supreme Court, look critically at the FACTS surrounding Ms. Sotomayor’s total lack of concern about the separation of powers and do your sworn duty (i.e. support and defend the U.S. Constitution) by VOTING AGAINST the confirmation of Sonia Sotomayor to the United States Supreme Court.

I eagerly await your response, although I am painfully aware of your reluctance to stand against the Obama Administration and its dictates to you. You must show yourself to be a “loyal democrat” FIRST, after all, right? However, for the sake of the future of our Constitution, I truly do hope that you will “break from the party” on this issue. You CLAIM to be a moderate, sir; please prove it now!

Sincerely,

WayneS

PS – You never did respond to my last question to you - that being: Did you (not one of your advisors, but YOU personally) actually read the “Porkulus” Bill in its entirety before you rushed head-long into voting to make it the law of our land?

I’d still like the answer to that question, please.

Good on you, Wayne.
If nothing else, you know you did your part to oppose the tearing down of the Supreme Court.
I always feel that if I didn’t speak up, then I deserve what they dish out.

It’s also possible that she will be so far to the left that the rest of the Justices will be embarrassed to side with her on anything.

I say we oppose each and every name he submits for every post just like the Dems did with W. Let these congresscritters earn their salary and earn our future votes by standing up for our side instead of laying down on the job.

She's pushing 60. How is that possibly too young?

She'll be 55 next month. That's the same age that Stevens was when Gerald Ford appointed him, and he's the current longest serving SCOTUS Justice.

Given that women live longer than men on the average, that gives her plenty of time to screw up our country even further.

doc
she has type I diabetes and is overweight, so she is about as old as we can expect. but she is the most lefty of the leftist judges.

“If we do not oppose her, what is it that we are opposed to?”
