The press already chose our 2008 nominee. He lost if you remember.

Anyone remember the sad state of Mccain’s campaign before Palin was picked? Mccain had hardly any supporters or media following him around

Who is John Weaver and who made him a “strategist?”

Agreed. Between her disastrous Couric interview and the SNL parodies, including her own appearance, she is toast. She is the female Dan Quayle of this millenium. Sad but true. We need fresh blood. Is there such a thing as a conservative “community organizer”?

Follow the money. You can pretty much bet that whomever the MSM and the RINO’s are pushing...is a merely bought and sold Washingtonian..who does’nt like to wear Democrat on their sleeve.

We are doomed ONLY if we fail to rid the party of all the RINO scum like Huntsman.
To: RobinMasters
I guess the RINO’s in the party are greasing us up for another screwing.
To: THX 1138
If I hear anybody use the word rebrand again... What we need is a new image... No, not rebranding, just plain branding. How about Palin with a branding iron with the letters RINO giving Huntsman his new brand.
It's time to tell the losers in the party that we don't want their rebranded retreads.

Reread post 15.
This is a culture war and Palin is one of the best warriors on our side.
What do they say?
Get on board, get out of the way or get run over.

Wow. Your easy. These anti-Palin comments remind me of talk we heard back in the mid 90's criticizing Newt Gingrich. The enlightened (that would be you) people told us if only the republicans would separate themselves from Newt then the media and the general mainstream voter would like us more. How did that work out?
To: RobinMasters
I'd never heard of this Huntsman character until recently. I've heard of Hunter.

Once again, behind every attack on Gov. Palin is Team Romney.
"Ex-McCain aide says he's still loyal
Weaver...provided the critical, on-the-record foundation for stories denigrating (Senator McCain)
After The New York Times published a story Thursday suggesting that John McCain had
an improper relationship with lobbyist Vicki Iseman, his campaign took to the airwaves to trash the story
... Weaver said that when the Times confronted him in December
with details of his meeting with Iseman, he felt compelled to corroborate the story.
Weaver vigorously maintains that he is loyal to McCain. (but note)
... the campaign brought Weaver in just last week to help broker Mitt Romneys endorsement."
"8. The person who has the clearest chapter-and-verse hold on Mitt Romney's past statements and actions on abortion, gay rights, and other hot button issues is
a. A Boston Globe reporter.
b. John Weaver.
c. Mitt Romney.
d. A DNC oppo researcher.."
"Romney would not say whether hed been vetted,
but did insist that the vice presidency was a subject he had never even so much discussed with McCain,
with whom he often tangled bitterly in the primary campaign.
So I tried another tack, recalling that I had been in a car with McCain and his then aide John Weaver,
reporting a piece for V.F. in the fall of 2006,
just after McCain delivered an address at Boston Colleges opening convocation.
Weavers phone rang, and it was someone at B.C.,
informing him that Romneys office had just called to ask when he would be invited to speak."
"Texan helped McCain secure Romney endorsement
AUSTIN The decision by Mitt Romney to endorse John McCain didn't just happen, of course. It took a Texan who knows something about uniting fierce political rivals.
John Weaver, Mr. McCain's former political guru, was the intermediary who initiated talks between the two sides that led to Mr. Romney's announcement of support.
...Here's how the two came to make a joint appearance Thursday in Boston: Last week, Mr. Weaver got a call from McCain aides Charlie Black and Steve Schmidt, who asked if he would help broker an endorsement.
Mr. Weaver, who had left the McCain campaign in last year's shakeup, is a longtime friend of Beth Myers, Mr. Romney's campaign manager.."
"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"
"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"
"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"
"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"
"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"
Poor sport spoiler Romney attacks other GOP candidatesn:
Novak: "Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign"
Said Novak: "The rumors were traced in part to Mitt Romney's campaign,
trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson."
"Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries,
(Mitt Romney, Carpetbagger UT,CA,MA,NH,Mexico) lost Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and California.
The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states;
and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals
couldn't spare the cash to advertise.
Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.
(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."
[Romney: A Mistake for McCain, 7/23/2008, Dick Morris]
"A political party cannot be all things to all people.
It must represent certain fundamental beliefs
which must not be compromised to political expediency
or simply to swell its numbers."
-- President Ronald Reagan
"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldnt make any sense at all.""

Her best bet would be to do as Reagan did in the seventies; go around the country and help conservatives retain and gain seats everywhere. Raise money for good candidates.

UNIVISION: To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
PALIN: I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country. "
The entire interview is at the link. You'll read that Palin plays the Fred Thompson wordgames by saying she objects only to "total" amnesty (he said "blanket" amnesty).
However, she makes it clear that she supports a "path to citizenship" for the rest. You'll also read she makes mention of the usual RHINO straw man about not being able to round up 12 million aliens blah, blah, blah.
