Harry Knox, appointed last month to the 25-member Presidentâs Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, has drawn fire for inflammatory comments about the Catholic Church and Pope Benedict XVI... 'It'll be challenging to do that for instance in ways that are not dismissive of the tremendous gifts of single mothers; not to sort of hold a heteronormative view of fatherhood up as the only model," said Knox. The White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships is responsible for distributing federal money to religious non-profit and charitable organizations. "For instance, 25 percent of gay male couples in the country are raising children -- their own and other peoplecs," Knox, a member of the United Church of Christ and the Interdenominational Conference of Liberation Congregations and Ministries, told PBS.Church?

Normalcy is insanity. Insanity is normal. Decency should be confined to the privacy of homes and churches and perversion should be enshrined in the public arena. Get with the hopenchange program! < / sarcasm >

What have we come to in this country when a word like "heteronormative" is bandied about ?
As Billy Graham said once in the past, if we don't receive punishment like Soddom and Gomorrah, God's gonna have some 'splainin' to do.

Challenging “Heteronormative” fatherhood. Oh, someone wants to have sex with little boys and call it love. The APA had this in a study saying that children could benefit from this.

The ideal for children is a mother and a father, no matter what anyone says. It is not always possible, but it should be the ideal and the norm.

What is with this Liberal obsession with homosexuality? Shouldn’t somebody like Knox talk about how many failed marriages we have in this country? If the divorce rate is so high, than to me talking about homosexuality is like talking about “climate change” in a time of economic recession. First find a way to fix a divorce epidemic then get back to me about changing cultural means of society.
Sometimes I think that some people become homosexual because to them, any kind of self-expression is political and Homosexuality is an expression of political Liberalism.

good point...
perhaps the child should be asked first if they want a mommy and a daddy to raise them...
until they can say otherwise, a heteronormative family should be the norm.

The US is circling the bowl. Well, I was about to say, the fact that the president can legitimize this man's warped views by selecting him for any role of public service, much less a "faith-based" one, strikes me as a sign that we've gone around the bend.
So I guess, unfortunately, that I pretty much agree with you. Until this shit passes, we're in for a rough ride.

I wish Obama would have gotten a Faith based advisor like
“The Chruch Lady” from SNL at least it would be funny in a funny ha ha way

True . . . though . . . I don’t think one is that controlled by satan without being blinded, deceived and clueless at significant levels.
