I just got back from the grocery store, and in the checkout line on the rack was Essence magazine with Michelle and her mom on the cover. Somebody drew a mustache on Michelle (it wasn’t me, either).

You know that, I know that, Iman probably knows that. The people to whom she is referring who hold these attitudes—and I would bet many were black—probably DON’T know that.

You also probably know that black Americans aren’t overly fond of *actual* Africans who come to America for a variety of reasons.
