I was listening to talk radio last year when a physician said for a $585.00 procedure she received $58.00 from either medicare or medi-cal. But she loved her work and refused to give up on women who only had medicare and medi-cal insurance. She was a breast cancer specialist. She said she could barely keep her office open with what she was being paid so she started doing botox shots in order to pay rent and employee wages.

When I spoke with physicians in the bay area two years ago they said medi-cal had stopped sending money completely but they were still forced to take medi-cal patients. Something about their budget had dried up or was messed up. Millions they said were due to them.

If socialized health care does become a reality, medical school will be paid for. I spoke with a reporter in France and he said the cost for medical school is nothing like here.

This is so sad in so many ways. I know some physicians that are miracle workers. But none that I spoke with want their children to go into the same field.

Bush placed the costs that medi-care pays online if anyone wants to compare what they pay versus the government.
