Exactly. Can't afford to leave anyone standing who might challenge The One.
The mouth can’t find the right words.
Anytime someone who is bound and unable to defend himself is "muscled" and treated as if to be killed, there is torture. It is cowardly.
We will definately disagree on this.
Pilosi could have her own radio spot under a new fairness doctrine, ‘’I misreport, you decide’’ or I lie try and catch me’’.
Be careful what you condone. Anything good enough for the CIA is good enough for you local police department.
There is a significant difference between what the Nazis did and our use of waterboarding. The Nazis were bent on the eradication of non-Arian people. We used waterboarding to obtain information vital to the safety of people. No one died during these advanced interrogation sessions, while millions died horribly at the Nazis hands.
If some group kidnapped a member of my family and I caught one of them, you'd better believe that I would use "advanced interrogation" techniques to find my family member.
You are so right, g_w. :” Second that thought. This is the braggart who claims to be the Speaker of the House where they write the laws. Of course, we all know that theyre poseurs, the laws are actually written by lobbyists, and these preening bozos dont ever read them...”
It is not like these people are working full time with a part time job of village fire chief. These people have salary, pension, tax breaks, perps and legal immunity. They have failed. They have absolutely failed.
They should be so ashamed that that they should apologize to the American people for THEIR lack of fiduciary behavior, lack of moral behavior and lack of courage and quit apologizing to the world.
These people cannot be allowed to be treated like ROYALTY!!!
They continually lie about things that are so sophmoric...plane rides, affairs, what they know when.
I also blame the absolutely lame media. Absolutely dumb. Absolutely in bed wit hthe politicians or just plain stupid.
Nazi Pelousy is way beyond Shovel-Ready
Oh, you mean like in G Washington's army when they would set AWOL soldiers on a board(spread legs on the edge of a board, documented)for hours as punishment? This was just for our own troops. We have always used "enhanced interrogation techniques" to get info from prisoners when minutes counted and we used to be a lot rougher than water boarding. If anything we were more moralistic to prisoners during the Bush administration(and believe me I am no great fan of GW)than at any other time in history.
Water boarding, sacring people and subjecting them to cold and other psychological methods are not torture and we don't use them against all prisoners, only those we suspect have information that will save AMERICAN lives. Treatment of prisoners by the USA is far more humane than any other nation. Go to Gitmo see for yourself.
You are either incredibly naive or you are a troll, take your pick.
She is an outright liar.
When did the U.S. start sawing off heads and indiscriminately killing civilians?
Waterboarding is not torture.
There is no physical damage -- temporary or permanent -- no physical pain.
Uncomfortable, yes. Unpleasant, yes. A little scary, yes. But not torture.
If waterboarding were torture, would we inflict it on our own troops?
Your position may be faithful to your religion, as you see it. But conflating waterboarding with beheading and terrorism isn't logically consistent. On the other hand, the Enhanced Interrogation methods were well within the bounds of my religion, as I see it.
Damn right! They're called terrorists.
Wrong!
The local police department is bound to treat me as an American citizen, with inalienable rights assured by the Constitution.
The terrorists enjoy no such protection. Under the Geneva Accords, he military is free to shoot them on sight. The only restraints regarding their interrogation (or general treatment) are the restraints we choose to impose on ourselves.
I beginning to think that one of your problems is that you don't know much of what you're writing about.
Nonsense. Good morals mean you protect the innocent. Thousand more would have died had that slug Khalid not sputtered under the water for a few minutes.
You remind me of the pacifists who cause BIGGER wars and MORE suffering...we shouldn't have dropped the Hiroshima bomb and all that claptrap.
Check your Bible again. God is the primary righteous judge and told Samuel to cut Agag in pieces because that's what was needed. If it's needed, Christians are disobedient when they shrink from what needs to be done, claiming some self-righteous, holier-than-thou, pie-in-the-sky "better way".
“Pelosi: I Was Told Interrogation Methods Were Lawful”
So was Bush, bitch.
Keep changing the story Pelosi! The lies just roll of your tongue like they are nothing. Now it is time for you to be removed from your seat!
I think you’re making some fair points, and I can see your point of view.
But I don’t agree.
Context matters. Killing, for example, is wrong when it is murder, and right when it is in defense. The mere act of killing itself cannot be extricated from the context of “why”.
Most everybody would agree, I expect, that torture merely for sport is abhorrent. But the exigencies of context are not easily— or indeed wisely— ignored.
To wit: sparing any suffering of the guilty, if it allows the suffering of the innocent, is wrong.
When information must be gained in order to prevent the suffering of innocents, the most important thing is the effectiveness of the method. Not all methods work the same on all subjects. Every subject is different, but every subject has a combination that will unlock their tongue.
When finding that combination matters, willfully failing to discover it is tantamount to complicity. It then puts the burden for the act on those who could have prevented it but chose not to. They cannot claim any moral high ground. To pretend that theirs is the morally superior position because they didn’t cause any pain to some terrorist at the expense of a busload of kids splattered all over the road by a bomb— is a cop-out.
IMHO
That’s a nice dream - we won’t wake you up.
