Evidently the Obama administration and the Holder justice dept. agree with the Bybee definition of what constitutes torture because they sited it as precedent in defense of the US position on the extradition of Demjanjuk. Demjanjuk's lawyers claimed in a law suit that the extradition to Germany would constitute torture because of the methods of questioning the Demjanjuk would be subjected to. The Holder defense was that no the methods that would be used would not constitute torture under the Bybee definition.

So, I guess it's settled Obama supports the Bush use of water boarding, right?

In short, you were told that the methods you were never told about and that we weren’t using at the time, were legal, when now you say they weren’t legal, although it didn’t really matter ‘cause you were never told about them and were told that we weren’t using them in the first place. A simple explanation, Frisco style!

Well, she’s been whupping his skinny little backside on Capitol Hill for the past 100+ days. That’s reason enough for any dedicated narcissist.

No, no, guys - you're missing the key operational phrase here. What you want, and what you should stress - loudly and persistently - is, “No controlling legal authority”!

CA....

Demjanjuk is far older and more succeptable to injury from interrogation than twentysomethings and thirtysomethings on the field of battle.

I also don’t think that we should have put up obstacles to the investigation of Demjanjuk. I also don’t know why they would need interogration techniques on him at this point. Aren’t there records and witnesses and other evidence to present at trial? Wouldn’t that be the case? Or did they want to make him admit it?

...Waterboarding WAS lawful...

In my humble opinion, therein lies the shame.

I was taught by the US Army that the United States does not mistreat prisoners. Period. Uncouth individuals will do so, but it will never be policy.

Mistreatment of captives is immoral, reprehensible, and cowardly.

Now I expect the deluge of "anything is OK as long as you find out something we need to know." I stand the high ground, nevertheless.

During the Nuremberg Trials, we insisted that "orders" was no excuse for inhumane behavior. It should have remained that way.

Pelosi: I Was Told Interrogation Methods Were Lawful

You were also told by your Church that abortion is murder, but that has not stopped you from voicing your own opinion and even pushing it on Americans.
But now you expect us to beleive that because of couple of lawyers acting for the BUSH administration said something was legal and you just accepted it and went with it??????

Democrat - “enhanced” interrogation techniques

Republican - torture.

How many times do you have to hear, to hear?

I only said, “I do” once, but I’m still married after 23 tears...

Yeah - its pretty easy to see the Socialist political strategy at work here. Everything that the Socialists disagree with is now colored with the following types of description by design that is intended to incite:

- Torture

- Criminal (anything and everything W)

- Hate (fill in your issue of choice)

- Environment Destroying

- Bigoted/Anti-Immigrant/Nazi

Torture appears to now be the new incendiary descriptive word of choice.

Whether of not that is what it actually is - is completely immaterial.

What is mistreatment? Sleep deprivation? Psy ops?

Our government used them against David Koresh for 40 days (grinding up graves with a tank, playing the amplified sound of rabbits being skinned alive, playing “These Boots Are Made For Walking... One Of These Days These Boots Are Gonna Walk All Over You”.

They have recordings from their bugging system. They knew he was suicidal. Whether they lit the flame or drove him to it deliberately, the outcome was the same.

But the Left didn’t speak out about that. Not to the degree that they have condemned waterboarding.

Police departments use coerrcive interrogation techniques too. But I guess that’s okay since we don’t hear those being discussed as horrible either. And that’s more to obtain an “admission” for plea bargain and conviction rather than any matter dealing with interests of national security (investigations that extend beyond a single individual).
