Not yet. I will listen to Dr. Michael today. In Portland, Oregon the local media do not play his program from 3 PM to 6 PM like they used to six months ago.

I suspect our Half-wit Mayor put pressure on 1190 KEX radio to drop some of the show. IMHO he is a weak sister who cannot keep his pants up. Recently, he was stopped after an accident but not arrested even though two independent witnesses said he reeked of alcohol. But linkage to the 'G-Mafia' that runs both San Francisco and Portland is too obvious.

Of course, Savage may receive info via private investigators. There are many people with serious knowledge in SF. Also Michael's life may be in danger. Too many people hate him. If he is attacked in any way -- and survives -- the value of his case will explode into the millions.

In fact, Michael Savage may be forced off the air by death threats. He has the money to hide and come back bigger than ever after this bogus Bovine Squat is over. 'Nuff said here.

Actually he does have a potential case with British libel laws. British libel laws place the burden of proof on the defendant rather than the plantiff. The problem is that some of the judges in Britian that rule over libel cases have a history of favoring censorship and against free speech. There has even been cases were people who don't live in Britian have sued for libel against people who don't live in Britian and actually still have the cases heard.

An example: Billionaire Saudi financier Khalid Salim bin Mahfouz sued American author Rachel Ehrenfeld in Britian. She wrote in her book that was published in the US, Funding Evil, that he was involved in funding Hamas and al Qaeda. Bin Mahfouz denied that he had "knowingly" given any money to either. Britian allowed the case to proceed claiming that because her book was available for sale within their country via Amazon.com, there was a british connection.

The case was heard by Judge David Eady. In May 2005, Eady ruled that Ehrenfeld had to apologize to bin Mahfouz and pay over $225,000. The fine remains uncollected, and she is now banned from traveling to Britian, along with her writing and research work.

When you actually dig into Bin Mahfouz, a website on his immediate family and himself acknowledges that he was a principal donor to the Mawafaq "Blessed Relief" foundation, an islamic charity that the Treasury Department identified in October 2001 as "an al Qaeda front that receives funding from wealthy Saudi businessmen." In June 2007, France's foreign intelligence agency, DGSE, reveled that bin Mahfouz was in 1996 identified as one of the architects of a banking scheme constructed for the benefit of Osama Bin Laden.

Michael is interviewing English author Matt Towery and he cited his own news commentary;

Ah,but what you've clearly forgotten is that the "defendant" in such a case...a civil libel case....would be a British cabinet official acting in the routine performance of her duties.Yes,I suppose that Savage could appeal the case to the appropriate British government agency for reversal but I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts that there's a law that sheilds her from such a civil suit in a case like this.

good thing news media is backing the free speech
Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press . . .
. . . but then, journalism is too busy promoting the imposture that it is the embodiment of "the press" - which makes as much sense, and no more, as if somebody who talks a lot were to proclaim himself the embodiment of "speech" - to trifle about abridgment of somebody else's freedom of expression.

The intent of the First Amendment is clear: the government is not to censor anyone without cause (e.g., national security) and certainly not to censor political opposition. But with the advent of the AP newswire, newspapers and then all of journalism became homogenized into a collection of self-promoting fronts for socialism.

It's very possible that she will be able to hide behind some "immunity from prosecution" given her cabinet position, and Savage will only be allowed to persue a case on getting the travel ban lifted and his name removed from the list. I heard the labour party is looking at a major butt kicking in the next elections. Hopefully, she'll lose those protections if she's voted out of office.

Oh and I want to give props to Robert Spencer. I was reading his book, "Stealth Jihad" recently and it provided the information in my post about the libel case against Rachel Ehrenfeld. It came to mind when I heard yesterday about Savage persuing a defamation case against Smith.

Under U.S. law any immunity may be exploded by provable 'actual malice' on the part of the defendant. It may be the same in England, especially since she could not have heard Savage comment on the air in London. If she was supplied with 'excerpts' provided by the G-Mafia in SF -- or the O-Mafia in DC -- her personal liability may be wide open.

IMHO many hope Savage drives a heavy tort-truck over her fat-witch @ss !

I’m no lawyer but it seems that Savage doesn’t have a prayer either in US courts or British courts. And given that the oh-so-wise Europeans see Americans as dangerous thugs the current British government will,if anything, benefit from all this politically speaking.

Actually, Britain has rather liberal defamation laws, and she really went after him, specifically banning him for his published views and commentaries on a number of issued, including, specifically RAPE. That was something that he wondered about on his show the other day. I think that he may just have a pretty strong case for a defamation suit, though proving damages may be difficult, if not impossible.

I also googled her. She appears to be the ideal person for Savage to sue. Look what I found easily:

Jacqui Smith and Record of Possible Corruption

Habeas corpus and restrictions on photographing the police, which she justifies as a necessary anti-terrorism measure.see below Such actions have lead to the mainstream British media comparing her actions to those undertaken by Joseph Stalin.[2]

Smith is currently under investigation by the parliamentary commissioner for standards over accusations that she inappropriately claimed expenses for her sister's home in London.[3] Smith has claimed over £116,000 on the property since becoming an MP,[4] however she contends that she has done nothing wrong. She was criticised by the media in March 2009,[5] after a newspaper discovered that she had been claiming expenses to cover the cost of pornographic films viewed by her husband, Richard Timney.[6] Two films, costing £5 each, were charged to the taxpayer—by mistake, according to Smith.[7]

Expenses controversies

On 8 February 2009, The Mail on Sunday revealed that Smith had designated as her main residence a house owned by her sister in order to claim a parliamentary allowance for her constituency home, despite explicitly stating on her website that she "lives in Redditch with husband, Richard and sons James (13) and Michael (8). [41] She has claimed more than £116,000 over six years from this arrangement, and additionally the policing cost is believed to be an additional £200,000 per annum."[4][42] When asked whether it was fair that she made claims believed to have been made for items such as a flat screen TV and scatter cushions, she said that analyses of her receipts had been very particular. In response to criticisms over her housing allowances, she said it was the "nature of the job" that MPs had to furnish and run two properties.[43]

On 29 March 2009, it was revealed in the Sunday Express that Smith, in April 2008, had claimed expenses on an internet bill that contained two adult films and two other pay-per-view films. Smith said it was a mistake, and said it was her husband's fault, and is going to re-pay the claim.[44][45] The subsequent furore led to the Prime Minister calling for a new system of payments to be introduced.[46]According to the Telegraph, the two films were Raw Meat 3 and By Special Request.[47] Gordon Brown said she had done nothing wrong.[48]

In April 2009, yet another expenses scandal involving Smith was unearthed after leaked documents showed she had charged the £40 cost of a barbecue to her parliamentary expenses,[49] and even a bath plug, despite the fact she is paid a salary of £142,000 a year.[50].

Smith is one of a number of MPs who employs their spouse as their personal secretary; since this entitles her to claim his salary as expenses, she has been criticised for this.

Personal life

Smith married Richard Timney (born 1963 in Ealing, London) in October 1987 in Malvern, Worcestershire, and has two sons. She is a very keen supporter of Aston Villa whom she regularly enjoys watching in her spare time.

In December 2008, Timney was discovered to be behind a series of letters to newspapers praising the work of Smith, however he had failed to disclose that he was both her husband and in receipt of a £40,000 salary to manage her constituency office.[52]
