Senate bombarded on 'Pedophile Protection Act'

Pedophilia is a sexual orientation. An act of violence directed toward a kiddie diddler on account of his being a kiddie diddler would subject the assailant to enhanced criminal penalties. So, perversely, the kiddie diddler's perversion confers enhanced "victim" status on the kiddie diddler--raises him above someone who is the assaulted in a dispute over a parking spot, for example.

If fact, a kiddie diddler who is assaulted in a dispute over a parking spot would not be entitled to special protection. It is in fact only when he is targeted in connection with his sexual perversion that he is accorded special secular sainthood status.

But for other reasons I object to hate crime legislation in general.

Hear hear! We are violating equal protection under the law by giving certain crimes additional status if they prove that a certain thought was in the head of the perpetrator of the crime. Hate crime legislation equals thought crime written into law.

You know... I started to look that up - but damned if I’m gonna search for pedophilia from work. There is no telling what might come up.

You say pedophilia is a sexual orientation and so is protected by the hate-crimes bill. But practicing pedophilia is a crime just about everywhere.

Fact is, we’re not supposed to commit a felony under any circumstances. The hate crime bill only goes after people whose hate crime is a felony.

So what does the hate crime bill provide that’s not already part of our laws? I must be missing something.
