I don't know where you get your hate, but it isn't welcome here. People make mistakes; it's a person with character and integrity who admits the problem and makes it right. It's a an even bigger person who survives in the glare of a National Presidential Campaign. And when that person is a teenager, it makes them even more worthy of mercy and grace.

I don't think you are a conservative. I think you are a leftist attempting to come onto this site with false credentials hoping to stir up what you believe are stereotypes. Go away.

Sadly, I think the smear campaign put forth by the media and Saturday Night Live last year did her in. The impression was crafted in way too many minds and its a lasting one.

I’m not sure its a preconceived impression she can overcome. Naturally, I’d like to be proved wrong, but I don’t see that happening.

This group is already diminished because John McLame is on it. I hope Sarah will reconsider. She’s way above being on anything that clod is associated with.

Who the heck annointed you a part of the Trinity? You have NO idea what the circumstances have been, and I’m disgusted by your slanderous “slut” comment.
Is this a “responsible, penitent, ‘conservative’ thing to do?”

Any GOP group with McCain in it is no place for a Conservative.

If she joins any group with Jeb Bush in it, she is toast. It’s bad enough her little slut of a daughter can’t marry the guy she bedded. If mom beds down with the NeoCons, it might as well be an advertisement for a third party

Thank goodness Sarah's daughter did not marry that boy, he turned out to be pretty pathetic. I remain proud of Sarah, I hope she can become a leader within the party, but if she doesn't try, how could that happen?

-we all make mistakes......and your post is a good example of what not to place on FR.

Boy. I just came into this thread, and that person is one of the most unpleasant, self-righteous, obnoxious people I have ever seen. He seems to fit a stereotype of the kind of person who drives people away from conservatism.

I agree with your assessment-that person is the stereotype of everything people find hateful in religion (and politics) That is a potent combination.

I’m sure he/she/it thinks that is a great thing, though.

Or working as designed? :o)

I mean it is what it is, right? ;^)

“The only good I can see coming out of this is if she delivers some barnstormin’ speeches defending solid conservative values, “

If she does then real conservatives might donate money- might split us into factions again.

You make a valid point, but there is a reason why this is important. In my opinion, it is because many of us understand that people like him are used by the left to represent the face of conservatism. In this public forum, he portrays us to the outside world as hateful, rigid and judgmental. DU doesn’t mind how they are seen, because nobody forms their opinons of liberals from DU. They form their opinions on them from the media. It is different with us. What we say here matters.

People outside this forum will never see the side of Christianity espoused by the vast majority of people who post here, which is very positve, but will instead see the hateful bile put forth by the other person.

If we took all his posts and compiled them in a single document which could be distributed, would it serve the purpose of liberalism? I think it would...

He is a Useful Idiot, and isn’t even self-aware or perceptive enough to know it.

These kind of vicious attacks is why the right wing of the party is considered a bunch of kooks. We are all sinners buddy and are constantly being forgiven by God when we are repentant. Bristol made a mistake but she didn't double it by having an abortion. Sarah is a good mother for standing by her daughter. Your kind of vicious Christianity belongs in the Phelps Family Church. Jesus is about love and forgiveness. What is your problem with Jeb Bush? In your mind what sin is he guilty of?

Hold your friends close but your enemies closer.

Bingo!

Besides, she is her own candidate, with her own vision and her own ethics that will contrast nicely with the spiderwebs & dust bunnies siting to her left;

"Well, John, I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree with you just one more time tonight; remember, you tried blending in with the furniture before, and wouldn't even get in the boat much less rock it. You had all the self righteous anger of a museum doorman at your opponent's palpable disdain for this great country, and even praised his ethics. To be honest, anytime you met him, I wasn't sure if you were going to shake his hand or pull out a stool and shine his shoe!"

South Carolina Gov. Sanford. Christian, and a Southern Charmer’s Gentleman, who happens to be conservative (and for the ladies, good looking).

“your friends close but your enemies closer.”

In what respects does she differ from them? I didn’t see any indication before or when she joined McCain’s ticket (everyone made the excuse that she couldn’t differ at the time), or since (in spite of how he’s treated her), that she denounces any position he takes. Excuses were made when she took the bailout. Now she’s participating in a group that is CLEARLY the wrong people going in the wrong direction. Do we make that ‘ok’ too? She’s already stated RHINO talking points about not being able to “round up” millions of illegal aliens and deport them. No one is suggesting that, but it has been used by RHINO’s as an excuse for passing Comprehensive Immigration Reform (AMNESTY). When asked to be clear on if she supports a “path to citizenship” for undocumented immigrants, she said “I do”. I just don’t see how she differs very much from the rest of them. Don’t get me wrong, I wish I did, but I don’t.

That is true.

I live in the People’s Republic of Massachusetts. If someone came to me with this thread and asked to to explain this nutcase, I could say he doesn’t speak for me, for Christians, or for Freepers.

But I have a suspicion that no matter how persuasive I might be, I would have difficulty changing many minds. Not that anyone expects liberals up here to be open to changing their minds, but why provide them with ammunition and justification?

What is totally moronic on the part of many critics of Sarah Palin, is their allusion that somehow the questionable sex life of Sarah’s daughter, Bristol, makes Sarah unqualified for higher office but ignore the fact that the Messiah should be unqualified to be POTUS because he has the power to threaten an investment bank with ruination if it does not agree to go behind the UAW in terms of Chrysler’s bankruptcy procedure. The latter certainly is not Presidential behavior while the former is prurient but not prohibitive for higher office.

It's a little sad when you have to teach the New Testament to people who call themselves Christians

That's neither your problem or place.

Cure your own diseased heart before you drown in the poison that pumps through it.

Pray you don't get struck down for falsely appointing yourself the Lord's messenger, and pray for forgiveness for casting such vile hatred at a young woman whom God loves and blessed with a child.
