At the time of his arrest, Benson was holding a McCain-Palin campaign sign. He was handcuffed and taken to the school's administrative office, said Dan Recht, a Denver lawyer who took the case on behalf of the American Civil Liberties Union, which represented Benson. Benson was given a "promise to appear" citation by a Jefferson County sheriff's deputy and accused of "interference with staff of an educational facility," said Recht... "There is no more classically protected speech than peacefully protesting against one candidate and for another," said Recht. "What Blake Benson was doing is as American as apple pie." Jacki Kelley, spokesperson for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, said that the decision to drop the charge was made three weeks after the incident after a consultation with the Jefferson County district attorney's office.

I just finished faxing my letter to my Congressman and Senators entitled "Where's the Outrage?" that included...
[snip]
... Where is the outrage from your office in regards to what is occurring in the current administration? What is your defense for the Constitution of the United States to which you swore an oath of allegiance?...Your championship of fiscal responsibility is a beginning, but what are you going to do to defend this nation from the pernicious evil that is taking root in other government arenas?
Where is the outcry from Congress when the Constitution is continually being barraged with insidious socialistic policies?
- The right to peacefully assemble and protest the government is one of the most sacred rights guaranteed to all Americans by the Constitution. Please contact the Justice Department to formally ask if the FBI was conducting surveillance at the Tea Parties. Who authorized the surveillance and for what lawful purpose this surveillance was authorized? The recent MIAC and Homeland Security reports have implied that Americans who exercise and are knowledgeable about their constitutional rights are a threat to law enforcement and potential domestic terrorists.
- Our freedom of speech is under attack with the proposed "hate crimes" legislation (H.R. 1913). This bill seriously jeopardizes religious freedom of speech in America. A pastor's sermon on the issue of sexual orientation, for example, could be considered "hate speech" under the already-passed House version of the bill and prosecutable under federal law.
- The usurpation of the office of the Presidency by a non-natural born candidate has led to the endangerment of the populace through treasonous actions:
- The release of intelligence memoranda that notifies our enemies of our policies, procedures, and limitations as well as decreasing (hog-tying, if you will) the effectiveness of our agents.
- The release of dangerous criminals into the general population almost certainly ensures new terrorist activity on our soil in the near future.
- The submissive genuflection to Saudi royalty reflects poorly upon our national morale.
- The redistribution of wealth through tax cuts for 95% of Americans which translates into tax credits for many Americans who pay no income tax at all. Who are they trying to fool?
The list above is hardly exhaustive, but a beginning and only within the past 100 days...
... We need to know more about WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO TO PROTECT this, the Constitution of the United States of America.
[end snip]
So yes, we do need to shout from the rooftops against this tyranny!

Good job!!
A very well written petition of grievance.
Keep up the good work, and thanks for letting me know.
