They should be evacuating women, children and non-vital personnel. This baby's gonna blow.

They should be evacuating women, children and non-vital personnel. This baby's gonna blow. They should get everybody out now, because the end-game will play out very quickly.
There will be no "defensible zone" if the Taliban get to the capital. They will launch mortar and rocket attacks on any such "zone". And anybody who waits until the last minute will experience a scene like the fall of Saigon.

IF Pakistan falls to the Taliban (assuming there will not be a pro-Western coup), then civilization has no choice but a preemptive nuclear strike and invasion.
Anything less will ensure the destruction of the West and the assimilation of all of Western Asia under Al Queda/Taliban.
It's an existential threat to at least 30 countries near-term, and the rest of civilization in the long-term.

Things could move very quickly, as you've stated.
I wonder how Nukes under Taliban control would factor into Israeli plans for Iran ?

A joint IsraeliIranianIndoUS campaign against Pakistan? My head is exploding!
Talk about thinking outside the box!
Strikes me as similar to our strategy during WWII, and pays repect to the Middle Eastern adage: the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Well, and perhaps the Chinese can help in stopgapping the Karokaram highway to ensure no jihadis escape into Xinjiang....

Sir Neville Henderson, the British Ambassador to Germany, flew from London to Berlin this afternoon with Britain's reply to Hitler's message of 25 August.
In this Hitler had outlined his demands for an immediate settlement to the question of the Free City of Danzig and the Polish corridor, and his horror at the thought of a war between Germany and Britain. (28 AUGEST, 1939) Three days before Case White, the invasion of Poland... And our Dear Leader is out of town for the weekend...

This would be an opportunity to try out all their "toys."

I think our resident commie is taking Air Force 1 to somewhere else, just because he won, and will be totally bemused that the Taliban will have become a nuclear power.
What's worse, I don't think he cares.

The probability of that is small, but not zero. The result could be a divided Pakistan along ethnic lines.
