Why not a march on Washington on the forth of July? Call it Operation Freedom and have a massive rally at the Capital. The forth of July is on Sat. so normal people could go without missing work. I have never been to D.C. and would sure go to something like this!

May 16 is Armed Forces day. We should have a huge protest IN FAVOR of our armed forces.

The whole east coast should board their Escalades, Hummers, etc., pack enough food for a week and go and block DC for a week, just have a one helluwa tea/beer party right in Michelle's vegetarian garden. Let's roll!!!!!

I’m sure there were some organizations behind some of them, but I think there were many more that were organized by individuals or local groups. Ours here in the Central Valley was organized by an individual. A young pregnant mom who was fed-up with high taxing government and didn’t want to wait for someone else to get a protest going, so she did. Then other groups joined in or donated resources and made it happen.

FR cannot take credit for this, though we did have many FReepers joining in on their local protests. Some were organizers, or donors, promoters and volunteers, but many of us were just participants. Very vocal participants!

I think the Internet and Talk-Radio made these rallies a huge success. We bypassed the mainstream media, bypassed the politicians, bypassed the political parties and simply made it happen. This was the direct voice of We the People!

Great rallies!!

Great job, everyone!!

I suspect at least the dog has papers detailing his lineage, including place of birth.

We know more about the presidential dog than the president.

That’s one frustrated crowd in Greenville, LOL! More politicians should be greeted that way IMO.

Regardless, the politicians have to be taking a hard look at the Tea Parties, although they’d never admit it.

Looks like CNN is trying to play catch up in a half handed way now. Yet they still give a number of 600,000 and say it was big.

In addition to the July 4th tea party, may I suggest the following act of civil disobedience that will get people's attention: From now until the 2010 elections, whenever you are asked to make a charitable contribution to your college, United Way, Red Cross, Cancer Society, etc. politely respond, in writing, as follows:

“Due to the Obama administration's economic policies that have increased our national debt by trillions of dollars in a few short months, I foresee a substantial increase in my taxes, runaway inflation, a dramatic decrease in my personal wealth, and an unprecedented loss of personal freedom, all of which inhibit me from making a contribution at this time. Although I do not blame you or your fine organization for the current situation, elections really do have consequences, and a substantial decrease in charitable giving may very well be one of them.”

I plan to send this letter to every organization and college that I usually give to with the exception of my church, the NRA, and Free Republic. If thousands of people send the same letter and withhold their contributions, then you can bet that these organizations will start to pressure their congressional representations and slowly the tide may change.

reliable sources, isn’t so reliable.

Firstly, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck would never describe themselves as journalists, so why is this panel discussing it in that framework. They are 100% editorialists, period.

They never present themselves otherwise.

Secondly, that so called reporter, and she is presented as such by her boss and herself, pretends that she is seeking the truth, as a journalis, when that is obviously not a fact.

Thirdly, I think it is important that all tea parties in the future shy away from having any “name” speakers. We need to cleanly keep the movement out of the hands of any who might side track it out of our hands.

Ping for an excellent idea and text (if I may be so crass as to plagiarize in a good cause).
