Appears that Obama is maintaining the “extremist” label. When Axelrod is intimating violence, that is coming straight from Obama.
The Obama lie continues. This is not a tax cut but rather a very insignificant one time tax credit of $ 400 given to people who make $ 75,000 or less and many of the receivers do not pay any taxes. This joke of a tax credit is even smaller than the $ 600 that the same group of people received last year and even much more smaller than the real tax cuts that President Bush gave to all the taxpayers, a tax cut on tax brackets and not just a one time insignificant tax credit. When the Bush tax cuts expire in the end of 2010 all the tax payers will see a massive tax increase that is going to destroy the economy. Also the tea parties were against Obama socialism and the trillions of dollars of tax payers money that he has already wasted on welfare programs and other failed government programs such as education and healthcare.
Once the Bush tax cuts expire in December 31 2010 all the tax payers will be paying much more in taxes as the tax brackets will go back up to the Clinton time level.
In fact these tax brackets will be much higher than the Clinton time and as high as the Carter time because we the tax payers are going to pay for the trillions of dollars that Obama and his socialists have already wasted and are going to waste in the future.
Gee that is so nice.
Blind and other disabled people are getting letters from the state of California saying their benefits are being cut about $50 a month.
That's fifty bucks off of a check under $1,000.
That's where most "tax cuts" get their money from
And that 95% is so bogus.
40% of those getting the "tax cuts" are getting checks, and they have never PAID taxes.
Japan's GDP is negative. They may not wish to purchase our Treasuries?
A few weeks ago the Fed monetized the debt.
Asslerod, you're dumber than I think you are if you think it's just about taxes.
“The thing that bewilders me is this president just cut taxes for 95 percent of the American people.”
I can’t possibly understand why you are upset about that 12 trillion dollar loan I just took out in your name. I promise to give you ten bucks a week for almost two years. Don’t that cover it? $10 x 45 weeks = $12,000,000,000,000.
It wasn't about taxes, Axelrod, you doofus.
It was about spending. And debt.
And lying about tax "cuts"...
The 400. so called “stimulus” checks are not even passed yet, and probably won't be. They are the proverbial candy dangled in front of children, just out of reach that they will never have. Even if they are, people who pay taxes will end up paying them back 10 fold.
Milton Friedman explained it a long time ago. He said that the burden of government is not defined by the taxes it collects but by the money it spends. If that be so, why do conservatives revere Reagan and his tax cut? It is because excessive tax rates have an "impedance mismatch" effect. They become an impediment to the economy's ability to bear the burden of the given level of government spending.
The phenomenon is best illustrated by an analogy: If the government forced you to climb up a grade in a bicycle, if given a choice you would choose the "speed" selection of the bicycle to allow you to generate maximum sustainable power. In my metaphor government spending is the slope of the hill, the "speed selection" is the tax rate, and the actual speed of the bicycle is the government revenue. If the government sets that "speed" selection arbitrarily high, you will be physically unable to push the pedals - and you not only will not go at the fastest possible speed, you will never make progress up the hill at all.
The Obama Administration is not (yet) speaking of setting the tax rate at 90% on high incomes, as was done by Roosevelt, so there is at present not truly a tax rate crisis as there was during the Carter Stagflation. But the enormous, cavalier spending increases of the administration threatens very pointedly to revive that problem. No good can come of it.
What is annoying is when they keep referring to the tax cuts to 95% of Americans. I hardly call $8/week a tax cut, ESPECIALLY when the Bush tax cuts are set to expire next year. Then, we will all be paying more in taxes. Plain ridiculous.
They know this better than you. It only is a device to use against their critics. They repeat the lie like a mantra.
good summary
apparently at least half of us cannot, will not, be pacified into giving up our liberty and selling our childen’s financial future, in return for $400 of pocket money
