Just like in 1968, when I was told if I voted for Goldwater, I would serve in the Vietnam Campaign. They were right!

If it weren’t so true and so sad, it would be funny.

Actually that was in 1964 since Richard Nixon won in 1968.

"Afghanistan is in Asia."
Yeah, but it's guilt by association.

You are judged by the friends and company you keep.
You need new friends.

McCain wouldn’t be qualified to hold Goldwater’s jock-strap. I didn’t vote for either one of those jokers in 2008 and am proud of it.
To: safetysign
In 1964 they told me that if I voted for Goldwater, we'd have half a million troops in VietNam and riots in the cities. They were right, I voted for Goldwater and we had half a million troops in VietNam and riots in the cities.
Nixon ran against Humphrey in 1968.

The Goldwater analogy doesn’t work. John “TARP” McCain is a statist pygmy compared to Goldwater. The debt projections would probably be just as high under President McCain. Conservatives better start disassocating themselves from the failed Republicans who helped to create this mess through their big spending, regulation, and bailouts.
To: Captain Kirk
voter abstinence for the win.

I agree, but I still believe McCain wudda been immeasurably preferrable to this idiot. Still, maybe Obama might have a Jimminy Carter dead cat bounce and usher in 12 years of Republican rule.
