“Is this one of those “give the devil his due” moments?”

Looks that way.

It is kinda wierd that the order wento out twice. There could be a difference between the Navy and Obama's interpretation of "immanent danger".

To the Navy it means that somebody has a loaded AK pointed at you while scowling. To His Sanctimonious Holiness it means Obama's reputation might take a hit.

Why give the order twice ...didn’t he think the military would follow orders? I am reminded of the newspeak language word from Orwell’s 1984 ...doubleplus good.

For what it's worth, I posted the following on two threads yesterday and today:

"During this afternoon's press conference, NBC Pentagon correspondent Jim Miklaszewski asked specifically whether Obama had ordered the kill or whether the order was in line with long-standing orders all presidents followed.

"The response was immediate: The president did NOT give a special order to shoot but rather was following a time-honored custom of giving the ultimate authority to the military not only to determine whether an American was in "imminent danger" but also to use all necessary force.

"SO THERE, CNN and FOX!!! Stop peddling your romantic tales of heroism to extend to the WH tourist-in-chief!"

President Barack Obama twice authorized the military to rescue a U.S. captain ... Obama gave the OK on Friday and Saturday to rescue Capt. Richard Phillips
Oh-oh.
Barry's 'orders' were to "Rescue" Capt. Phillips. NOT to kill the Pirates.

And since they (Kenyan Admin) had already classified this act as a 'Crime', not an act of War the Navy SEAL Snipers could be in trouble as they aren't LEOs. So they 'could' be classified as War Criminals for these 'murders' by some euro-weenie and charges filed with the ICC.

And given Eric Holder's 'pro' views on the ICC and International Law, I wouldn't doubt that he WOULD go along with this. After all the FBI was called there first, not the SEALS. AND, the one pirate was arrested by the FBI as a 'criminal'.

So I'd be very afraid if I was those SEALS.

I'm series. Nothing these Anti-American cretins do would surprise me.

“...the hostage negotiators from the FBI..”

I understand the negotiators did manage to transfer one terrorist to the Bainbridge to aid in “negotiating,” have a raft in the water to provide water/food, and agree to a tow line. That is quite an accomplishment. Then the fact that the terrorists felt comfortable exposing themselves giving the marksmen good targets tells me this was well coordinated between the Navy skipper, Seals and FBI.

I dont have the facts, so I will hold off judgement.

Pray tell, when and how do you expect to have access to the facts?

Photobucket The Obamas Stage Daring Rescue

AP: Washington DC April 12 2008 10:37PM EST

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibb released an official photo of the President and First Lady rescuing Captain Richard Phillips from Somali pirates.

In a prepared statement Gibb stated, "...that America's foes better be prepared for robust and immediate and personal action from The President and First Lady."

The President and First Lady were unharmed according to Gibb. They are expected to arrived on Monday by a F-18 Hornet piloted by Michelle Obama.

Gibb also stated that the supposed visit by The First Family to St. John's Episcopal Church was an elaborate plot to lull the Somali pirates in to complacency while The President and First Lady arrived on the scene. Actors were used to impersonate the Obamas.

When asked by reporters his reactions to the rescue, Vice President Biden responded, "The Obamas are some crazy SOB's and they kick ass and take names, so you better not piss them off."

Actually, the Navy asked him to give it twice. They recorded it so that if Captain Phillips had been killed in the rescue effort, they had cold, hard evidence to rebut president Pantywaist when he said that he had ordered them to stand down.

Heck, they probably wouldn’t even pickup a paintball gun let alone a real weapon.

*** They wouldn’t dare, would they???? ***

As to some euro-weenie filing 'War Crime' charges and the World Court, you bet they would. That's just a matter of time.

As to Barry and Eric Holder, nothing is beneath them (IMO). The 'problem' as I see it is that they immediately classified this as a 'Criminal Act' and sent in the FBI to 'arrest' the pirates.

But since it was Navy SEAL Snipers (military) and not FBI Snipers (Law enforcement) who killed the 'civilian' pirates that IS a potential legal problem as far as 'International Law' is concerned.

So it may not be next week or next year but when the 'International Community' gets fed up with Barry and demands 'justice' .... well .. I can see Barry and Holder caving to the pressure and giving up the SEALS. If they don't, they'll be acting just like Bush and compared with his 'go it alone', 'Cowboy diplomacy', and Obama won't stand for that.
